Hi All, Some help with a combo I hadn't had before.
Ambuscade's traps start with:
Whenever this card is face-up on the top of the villain deck...
Visonary's Precognition card reads:
Reveal the top 3 cards of the villain deck. Put 1 on top of the villian deck and 2 on the bottom of the villian deck
Three questions: 1. Does the trap detonate when it's revealed? I seems like it would given the text. 2. Is it considered one of the three cards for Precognition? 3. If so (and didn't detonate), can it be moved?
Technically, the trap isn’t revealed. After a card above it is revealed, the trap is on the top of the deck and explodes. After it triggers, you keep revealing cards, since the trap wasn’t revealed, it doesn’t count as one of the revealed cards.
EDIT: Just realized that if the trap kills Visionary, we have another case of revealed cards in limbo.
I always thought of reveal as taking all those cards at once keeping in mind the order. At least to me I would think none of them are ever technically the top of the deck until the power or card is finished with it. The only way I see the trap detonating would be if you played Precogoniton and left it on top. However, since this does deal with decks in the SotM app this could be tested out and confirmed. I think the testers for the app can setup specific scenarios and try this.
Edit: app confirms it per Pydro and also tells me I need to dig through Spiff's FAQ
If Visionary is incapacitated by the trap the revealed cards should go back to the deck in the order they came off the top.
I would say it works this way because the action fails at the reveal stage, which would make it similar to RC Wraith trying to play a revealed environment card when Foam Grenades is active, which in the app returns the revealed card to the top of the environment deck.
Ooh! Visionary can scrap the cloaking device like Haka can. Requiring her own death, apparently, but leaving it in Limbo. Side-effect or precog strategy?
Well that would explain what I was seeing with Digital Sentinels. I really need to reference Spiff's FAQ more often, since the answer was right there. On the plus side, looks like Handelabra has a new test case (incapped Visionary).
Does Tony have something to do with redirecting damage from Tachyon (from Ambuscade's traps) to Tony, thus killing him in the middle of revealing cards?
