So I've beaten all the original villains, and the Rook City villains pretty handily and without too much trouble. EXCEPT for the Chairman, I've played him 10 times or so but have only ever won once and that was just barely. Are there any tips or tricks to beating him I'm not seeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well, your first priority should be making the operative deal less damage. Wraith, Visionary, Argent (probably?), ExPat, Tachyon, Fanatic (Zealous Offense), Fixer, and especially Legacy are all good choices for this. Once she is taken care of, you can focus on killing the thugs and underbosses. If you can kill the thugs without putting them into the trash, that would be the most beneficial. Haka's Savage Mana and Visionary's Brain Burn are the only ways to do this reliably (until IR, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet). You DO want the Underbosses in the trash, so you can start hurting the Chairman.
At this point, just go for a quick kill. The best way to do it would be to have Lead from the Front, the Legacy Ring, and 2 Next Evolutions, as all of the damage in the deck is melee and projectile. You get that setup and you have the game won, more or less. Just watch out for the environment.
Once you flip him, try and kill the Chairman ASAP. His damage boost to thugs HURTS, as does his counterattack (unless you have the awesome Legacy setup.) so big hits are your best bet. Things like Lightspeed Barrage, Omni-Cannon, Inventory Barrage, etc.
Are you playing Advanced Mode? This makes a huge difference. I'm not going to lie, Advanced Chairman is super difficult to beat, probably the hardest villain to date (maybe Advanced Ennead is tougher, I havent logged enough games to decide yet, but I'm leaning towards Advanced Chairman).
Regardless, your strategy remains more or less the same. Kill the minions you cant deal with, leave the others alone, and pile damage onto the Operative. Once you've taken out the Operative it helps to be able to strike down the Chairman with a single blow to avoid retributive strikes. Wrathful Retribution is very handy, as is Lightspeed Barrage.
And Savage Mana is useful on a whole different level. One of the best (likely THE best) chairman strategies is to take Haka + anybody that can help Haka. Card drawing, card playing, increased damage, etc. Your strategy is to get out Savage Mana and use it to keep all the minions and underbosses out of the trash, thus preventing the majoratity of annoyance when dealing with Prison Break and various underbosses.
For a similar effect, Visionary's Brain Burn can be quite helpful. Especially if you're lucky enough to pull it turn one. Visionary ends up taking a ton of damage, but worth it to largely take the teeth out of the Underbosses.
A third good strategy is to ensure Legacy gets his ultimate setup. Curiously, the Chairman only does melee damage, and the only other damage type in his whole deck is Projectile, from The Contract and the Hired Guns. If Legacy has Lead From the Front, Legacy Ring, and 2x Next Evolution you can make all heroes immune to all damage from the villain deck. You can still do this with LftF and Next Evolution without Legacy Ring or the second copy of Next Evolution, selecting either melee or projectile as you choose. Its not as effective, but its realistically quite possible to achieve it.
No it is not on advanced, that's a whole different ballgame but I will have to try all those strategies sometime. Thanks alot for the tips and help but it might be awhile before I try again, I just lost to Citizen Dawn not even on advanced mode because she accidently stayed invincible an extra turn than anticipated from the environment. As soon I get over that humiliation we'll see how it goes thanks again.
My recommendations for advanced chaiman are as follows:
DON'T.
Apart from that, the best way to handle him is to Savage Mana all his guys, so the +H damage won't do anything.
I don't have IR yet (damn typhoons) so I don't know about the Ennead, but I've heard that they are hard. I think the Matriarch is harder than the chairman, myself. They are pretty close though.
I consider the Matriarch very easy but maybe I've just been very lucky. I've beaten her 4 or 5 times in a row and the most recent time all four of my heroes were in the low twenties or the upper teens. She really only has the one trick of damaging you whenever you take out a fowl, if you can nullify that then you're pretty set.

Advanced Chairman is definitely doable, if extremely violent, with any five heroes, as far as I can tell. The main thing is to have a plan to deal with 1) the Hired Guns, which deal 8 damage at a time to everybody if you let them, and 2) the Chairman's retributive damage, which is just excessive. Oh, and belt out a ton of damage, which is why five heroes is very very good. Controlling when the Contract dies has been very helpful for me; I try to make him the first underboss to hit the trash; otherwise, the Hired Guns just massacre you. (Well, massacre you more.) For the tricks pointed out above, Visionary, Haka, and Legacy are the best heroes to bring. Nightmist has some nice tricks too.
I have done it with four a few times. I don't remember exactly who was involved. I did it with three twice. Legacy starred in one, Haka in the other.
