Matchup #2 - This was a weird game. Atlantis threw out two Phosphorescent Chambers early, then two Krakens - which mostly beat up on the pins. But slowly and steadly we got set up, and slowly and steadily Gloomy's HP went down until he went down for the final count.
NEXT: Can the Cleansing Downpour team get a win on the Ennead's home turf?
Matchup #3 - We started out facing Isis, Nepthys, and Set. Two of them were down, and the other was hurt when they pulled out Atum, Nuit, and Shu within three turns of each other. It slowed me down, but the right guys were victorious in the end. This was tougher than it looked, though. Tempest took out pain-in-the-neck Shu with Chain Lightning for the win.
NEXT: Akash'Bhuta is large and thinks she's in charge. Can we take her down?
Matchup #4 - Akash had a couple of crazy turns where she played card after card. But the team had enough to steadily bring her down.
NEXT: The team goes up against Apostate.
I do have to ask, is there a method to choosing who and where you fight? Or it is just random
I'm glad you asked. Who gets fought is based on who is available to fight and who I'm not willing to fight. In general, the easier challenges come first. Where I fight is more random, but there are conditions here. I try to reuse environments as little as possible, while putting the easier villains in the harder environments. I also like to put villains in their "home" environments.
Meanwhile, from the Realm of Discord…
Matchup #5, take 1 - I pulled the plug on this one because of an overwhelming number of relics in play. I possibly could have eked out a victory here, but it wouldn't have been easy and it wouldn't have been fun. No screen capture here, sorry.
Matchup #5, take 2 - This went much better, though it was closer than it looked from the screen grab. I got some good draws (including Time Flies, which stayed up a good long while), and Apostate didn't go quite as nuts with the relics. So eventuallly he went down.
NEXT: Skinwalker Gloomweaver is waiting for us in the past!
Matchup #6 - Aesop was right - plodding does win the race. Slowly and steadily that big old zombie's went down. When Gloomy flipped, he attacked everyone right on schedule, but thanks to some Explosives Wagons, Wraith didn't last long after that. Tempest went down a few turns later. Only Legacy, with most of his defensive cards, was able to survive. Tempest was able to get him to use his Back-Fist strike to get rid of Gloomy's last few hit points. Victory was ours!!!
Thanks, everyone, for stopping by.
