"Kaagra hits highest fir four and hits the second highest fir three." How is this done? We've been doing it this way.
the highest and second highest are determined straight away from current hp. Should it instead be, she hits highest, and then if the highest is now second highest could be hit again?
in the sense of the chairman, he has a card where operative deals the highest and then chairman deals the highest. For this we play that the first highest is hit and then, depending on the hps it could be someone else. Thoughts?
I usually follow the rule that if both targets are mentioned in one sentence, they are determined at the same time. If they're mentioned in different sentences, then you resolve one before you figure out the target for the other.
Kaargra is dealing the two instances of damage seperately, so the HP order is recalculated both times. If I had three heroes: AA [24], AZ [23], and OX [22], then she would hit AA for 4 (AZ [23] OX [22] AA [20]) and then hit OX for 3 (AZ [23], AA [20], OX [19]).
If the text was something along the lines of "Kaargra hits the two highest for 4", then it would not be recalculated and you would hit AA and AZ. But as it is, the two attacks are entirely seperate.
I'm with Donner here; given the wording, it strongly implies it's meant to target the two people then do the damage; Otherwise, I'd expect it to say "Khgraa hits the target with the highest HP for 4. Khagraa hits the target with the second highest HP for 3." or possibly "Khgraa hits the target with the highest HP for 4, then hits the target with the second highest HP for 3."
If this is wrong, I'm having trouble thinking how I'd word such a card if it *was* meant to hit two targets no matter what... perhaps "Khagraa hits the target with the highest HP for 4, then Khagraa hits the target other than the first target with the highest HP for 3", but that seems wordy, and would lead to Dual Crowbar levels of "what happens when the first target is immune? What happens if that damage is redirected? What what what?".
Well I'd throw my hat in with Arcanist Lupis. Especially since in the video game, we have similar text on the flipped Grand Warlord Voss and he can hit the same target twice.
"Kaargra deals the highest hp hero 4 damage. Kaargra deals a different hero with the second. . ."
I'm not sure that wording would work.
Characters A, B and C have 20, 17, 14 health. Kaargra deals the highest HP target (A) 4 damage. This leaves us with B on 17, A on 16, C on 14.
Kaargra then hits "the different hero with the second highest health" for 3. Who is that? A has the second highest health currently, but is not a different hero. B was the second highest health, but has the highest at the point the second attack happens. C has the *third* highest health overall, and has since the start... but has the second highest of all the "different" heros (and would even if the first attack hadn't changed the order of A and B).
And you're right, the app is official, I'll be glad when WotC is released and we can see how the card as-worded works for certain!
