Darkwatch Setback Variant Unlock Hunters!

I have two theories that we can try starting out:

Setback redirects X ammount of damage away from fellow heroes(since that's a theme with his DW variant),

or Setback ammasses X ammount of unlucky tokens.

I think it'll be related to Expatriette somehow, since their relationship and the Dark Watch seem to have formed around the same time, and their DW incap art each features the other.

Could be. I say try the simpler theories first, or maybe focus on redirecting damage that would be done to Expat?

I think it's a safe bet to at least have Expat on the team with Setback for the unlock.

Based on the incaps, I'd say either:

Expatriette deals lethal damage to Setback in Temple of Zhu Long, and then Setback is brought back to life

or

Setback is brought back to life in Temple of Zhu Long, and then Expatriette deals lethal damage to Setback.

Which incaps are you referring to? Neither DW Setback or Expatriette's incap have anything to do with Zhu Long

They do in the foil cards.

Setback shows a ghost dragon going through his chest, his eyes turning red, while Expat's has a red eyed Setback in her sights as he stands beside Zhu Long in his human form.

Incaps seen on the foil collection with the alt art.  You can go to these links to see them http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Expatriette and http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Setback

Well, I tried the second option, specifically:

Ambuscade vs Redeemer Fanatic, DW Exp, DW Nightmist, DW Fixer, and Setback in Temple of Zhu Long

I offed Setback (final hit was from Fixer), then resurrected him using Rites, and then I had Expatriette put him down.  I also (just in case) had True Form out and Chastised for like half the game (he's pictured in the DW Exp incap).

No unlock.

The full text description of DW Setback from this wiki http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Setback is:

> While things deteriorated more and more in Rook City, the heroes who regularly patrolled the failing city grew increasingly concerned about the disappearance of Mr. Fixer. Three of the those heroes joined forces: Expatriette, Setback, and Nightmist. They worked together to protect Rook City and to investigate the loss of their friend.

When Amanda told Pete that they were going to team up, he had reservations. Of course, he was excited to help, but that was exactly the problem. He knew how things go for him - he didn't want Dark Watch to have any major setbacks. Even still, you can't help if you don't try, and Pete was very good at trying. When working with Dark Watch, Setback often leads the charge. He likes getting up close and personal with his opponents and also far enough away from his allies that he can't accidentally trip them up. Though he does like to spend as much time with Amanda as possible....

The hero team known as Dark Watch has gone through a lot. They were originally formed by Expatriette, Setback, and NightMist who were seeking to uncover the truth behind the events of the death of their friend, Mister Fixer. So, it was a bit of a rough start that the first major threat to Dark Watch was a mystically revived Mister Fixer! They managed to survive and even helped him reconnect his mind and body, so Mister Fixer became the fourth member of Dark Watch, fighting alongside those who risked everything to save him.

Based on that, I'm thinking something like Setback in the lead, along with Nightmist and Exp (possibly with someone in between them), but I'm curious about how to work in the Mister Fixer thing.  Part of me says he shouldn't be on the team, but another part says that we need to work in the resurrection somehow.  Hmmm.

Just tried the following:

Ambuscade vs Setback, Fanatic, Expatriette, and Nightmist in Temple of Zhu Long

So, I had Setback in front, with someone in between him and Exp, Nightmist.  I had Expatriette put him down, let him get rezzed, and then she put him down again, all while Zhu Long watched (Chastised) in the corner.  Once she put him down the second time, I left him down, killed Zhu Long, and then won the match.

No unlock.

Yes, but those are the Dark Watch incaps, which implies to me that they happen after the Dark Watch is founded, and thus won’t be part of the unlock.

The character card has him holding up something that’s falling on him. Maybe you need to redirect damage from hallway collapse, or falling statuary?

DW expat's first incap (http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=File:Darkwatchexpatrietteincap.jpg) is clearly happening on a Mobile Defense platform. Baron Blade may need to be in the game? Alternatively, since we know the Citizens take over the MDPs (one of the MDP cards that is not yet in the video game) Citizen Dawn may have to be the villian.

Also, Adept is in the background, fighting I believe Empyreon. Empyreon is not yet in the video game, so can probably ignore that.

DW Expat is also sheilding setback, so redirecting damage to her that kills her, possibly against Blade or Dawn (possibly damage that would have killed setback) may be part of the requirements.

And her Unlock for DW Expat is against Blade in Rook city - because of the MDPs, I'm guessing. So with that in mind, the above become a bit more likely.

However, both the original DW expat incap and the new foil ones have Setback in his Dark Watch uniform - indiciating they are perhaps after the event needed.

In which case, we look to Setbacks incaps. His first version has him hanging up his suit - Silver lining back into play? Some other effect? Seems to be happening in Rook City.

The new version has him juggling vials and being electricuted (Shock rounds? He is Twitchy after all)  - that again looks like a MDP setup ( a shield generator, perhaps?)

I'd hazard a guess that its Setback, Expat, and Nightmist in Rook City against Blade or Dawn, redirecting damage to Expat from Setback that kills her

possibly also Setback, Expat, Nightmist against Any Villain, in Temple of Zhu (possibly the Chairman), with DW Mr Fixer already unlocked.

(remember dw fixers unlock is part of this story of the formation of the Dark Watch - and Omnitron U required Cosmic Omni to be unlocked already, so having a character already unlocked can be a requirement)

Possibly: Nightmist Expat Fixer Setback vrs The Chairman, in Temple of Zhu, Fixer must be incapped by the Operative and brought back to life. (which seems odd as it already includes the basic story of another unlockl

I'm thinking that we need to investigate Fixers death by going up against the Chairman in Rook City with expat (base), Setback, and Nightmist (base).  not an easy fight.

New theory.  Because fighting the chairman in rook city is a hateful endeavor with a 3 person team.

1. Fight Kismet with Setback in the lead. Cash out must be played. Setback must be incapped.

(symbolizing setback walking away and giving up the superhero life)

2. Win a game in Rook City with Expat (base), Setback, and Nightmist (base)

(Symbolizing her convincing him to put on the tights again and help them)

I can confirm that having 500 Unlucky Tokens at any given moment does NOT unlock Dark Watch Setback.![](upload://eOis4pHBRGtQMuRqp54AoUuicjJ.jpeg)

Dangit.  That didn't work.

I'm sure its a two parter, though.  Canonically we know:

He was a cameo hero that showed up in a bunch of stuff.  He had a run of bad luck.

Setback gave up and moved to Rook City (according to Christopher, that is what one does when out of options).

Expatriette convinced him to get back in the game.

The first "official" Dark Watch Mission was to rescue Fixer from the temple.

I tried all 4 DW members, original costumes, vs the chairman in the Temple.

Killed Fixer, revived him, allowed The True Form to show up, killed him (with Setback), killed Setback with damage from friendly fire caused by Shock Rounds, Silver Lining triggered twice…

No unlock. So unless it’s REALLY specific, those are all out.

Spitballing, but maybe lose a game against any villain in any environment with Setback on the team.

Win a game in Rook City with Setback, Expat and Nightmist on the team. Maybe without destroying any of their ongoings or equipment, or redirecting a set amount of damage away from them.

Setback having 777 Unlucky Tokens does not do anything.
