Do Prayer of Desperation and Mist-Fueled Discovery skip the end of turn?

Both cards say "Immediately end your turn", and I'm not 100% sure about whether end of turn card effects such as Starshield Necklace, Embolden and Zealous Offence take place.

i think you would skip your end phase too.

My intuition is the opposite. I think the end of turn is the end of turn, and it doesn't matter how you got there.

You may want to look at this thread, this has been discussed a little before.

I would agree with Katsue, that the End of Turn phase still happens. The cards don't say "skip the rest of your turn." They say "end your turn." In the other thread, I feel there was a false conclusion jumped to.

Christopher weighed in in the other thread and did not rebut the conclusion. That's a fairly weak argument for the conclusion being correct, mind you, but even so I feel very confident that when one skips the rest of their turn that includes skipping end of turn effects.

Which is not to say that I don't see where you all are coming from! I can see a case being made for either -- I just think the case for skipping the end of turn effects is stronger.

Agreed, imprimis5 - ending my turn takes me to the end-of-turn phase. Skipping the rest of my turn is a different beast...

I'll weigh in now - sorry for not doing so earlier!

Skipping your turn would skip your end phase, certainly. If that were the intent of Prayer of Desperation, it would say "Skip the rest of your turn."

However, this is a case of "Proceed directly to end of turn. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 200 Sentinels Points." So you would still do any end of turn actions (as few as they may be for Fanatic).

Does that makes sense?

Thanks for weighing in, Christopher. It doesn't seem to get much clearer than that.
