Qucik Question: If Tantrum, or any enviorment kill, destroyes the Moble Defence Platform Propulsion systems, is that reducing it to 0 HP? I want to say no but I am not sure.
You can only reduce HP by dealing damage. Being destroyed through a "Destruction" effect is not the same as being destroyed by dropping HP to 0 or fewer. Though they both end up being "destroyed", the alternate loss condition on PS would not trigger because of this.
No. I'm pretty sure it was worded the way it was because cards like Tantrum were making it too difficult to avoid instant death.

The effect is also different since "destroy" effects can work around high DR and thus hurt targets that are otherwise well protected. Which gives cards like Tachyon's Sucker Punch, Ra's Wrathful Gaze, etc. their utility.
