Easiest. Battle. Ever.

So last week my friend and I took on Omnitron, with him playing Bunker, and me with Expat and Fixer. We got our arses handed to us, mostly due to a couple of early Electropulse Explosives which we couldn't hit hard enough to prevent massive damage to the heroes. It was my friend's first loss, and he was keen for revenge.

So last night we tried again, with five players this time. Haka, Unity, Visionary, Expat, and Tempest, three of which were played by people who had only played once before.

Omni's first turn, Electropulse Explosive. I feel a strange sense of deja vu. Haka's player starts working out how much damage he can do to it, before he's interrupted by Visionary's player, who asks me to clarify if "deals damage to all hero targets" means one instance of damage or multiple. I tell him it's five lots of damage. He grins.

And it dawns on me. He has Wrest the Mind in his opening hand.

The rest of us hit Omni and his solitary Repair Drone. Megalopolis plays something which we dismiss right away (and then proceeds to do nothing which really affects us all game apart from Close Quarters Combat).

Onmi's second turn. Wrest the Mind kills the Explosive, takes Visionary down to 11HP, and does 45 damage to Omni. We laugh manaically. He spends two more turns getting out a couple of Electromagnetic Railguns and another Repair Drone and tries to Terraform which does nothing.

Haka chips away with his Mere and a few one-shots, Unity gets out a few bots, Visionary does her deck thing, Expat gets the Tactical Shotgun with Hollow Points and Speed Loading, Tempest has Electrical Storm and heals Visionary a bit.

Turn 5. Electropulse Explosive. And Visionary has another Wrest the Mind! It'll kill both her and Omni, but it never comes to that. Haka goes into Battle mode, a Brain Storm and a Platform Bot hit Omni, some more shooting and Lightning Slash-ing and Omni is dead.

The only damage that the heroes took was Visionary hurting herself. It was weirdly unsatisfying - I guess it's just how the cards fall sometimes. But Visionary, as the primary damage dealer? Really?

Lol that's cool :D. Yeah, EPEs can be very nasty…had a game against Omnitron a few weeks ago in which be played both EPEs in the same turn. I was thinking "ooh, crap", until I saw that Tachyon had two Hypersonic Assaults in-hand. Thanks to those, we managed to destroy both EPEs before they had any chance to actually deal any damage :).

I one shot Omnitron with his own Electro pulse once,  Had TTE on Vis and Omnitron was on devices take -1 damage side.

We did it that way because the vitality card that makes all equip targets came out, then EPE came out, it was perfect.  Before then we were getting beat on pretty hard, but that EPE tore Omnitron down from full health, then destroyed itself.  Vis had 2 hp left I think.

It's always really cool when it works like that.
