Endurance Mode

My girlfriend and I played an endurance mode game tonight, and it was fun, but pretty easy. Here are the details:

All four villains in a row in four different environments. 10 hp healing between games and characters retain their cards in play, but start the game as normal aside from that.

Baron Blade in Megalopolis
Omnitron in Atlantis
Voss in Insula Primalis
Dawn on Mars

I used the con-exclusive Young Legacy and Absolute Zero, she used the Wraith and Tempest. For the most part, once you get set up, it’s easy to lay the smack down pretty handily, especially with Zero. Sub-Zero Atmosphere means Voss, Dawn and their respective crews are most likely doing nothing on turn one, which is where a lot of challenge comes from. Given, all it would take is an early Devastating Aurora and you’re starting a brand new Dawn game with less than full HP, but we didn’t come across that. I’m interested to try this without between-game healing or on advanced mode - it seems like it would be a lot more difficult. All told, a fun way to blow a couple hours, but really not very hard on basic. We’re both planning on trying it again, so I’ll let you know how it does with different options.

My friends and I did almost the same thing, only, we played without the healing and on advanced mode. Like you said, it was fun, but the only hero that was even remotely injured by the end was Fanatic, and she did most of it to herself.

I’ve been meaning to run a game with four players, each playing up to 3 heroes each against all four villains at once. Each villain would be in rotation between each players hero teams.
