Ennead timing question

So, I was giving Advanced Ennead a run this morning and came across a timing question. I had eight of them out and all were incapacitated by the start of the villain turn. Both the trigger for the win condition and the advanced text that adds another from the Shrine occur at the beginning of the villain turn. Which goes first? I know the go-to rule for simultaneous actions like this is that whatever is in play first goes first, but both effects are on the villain card. Do I just go top-to-bottom and win the game?

I went ahead and sided with "make the game harder for the heroes" and killed the last member for this case, but I have no idea if this is the right way to do it or not. If it is, that means that you can't beat Advanced without killing every last one of the nine, right?

Apologies if this has been discussed elswehere, I searched around a bit but couldn't find anything dealing with this in particular.

Read from the top of the card.  So, you won!

And may I just say, well done.  I've never defeated the Advanced Ennead before they flipped.  Who did you use?

Awesome, thanks!

I played with Wraith, Chrono Ranger, Ra, and Omnitron-X in Pike Industrial complex. It came right down to it and I was playing Chrono Ranger especially recklessly - four bounties out with Hunter and Hunted at one point meant he was around 2 HP. Smoke Bombs were the only reason he was even still in the game for the last couple rounds - a really great card for Ennead because they definitely like to pick on the lowest-HP hero.

I also had a few very lucky turns where the vat that converts damage to toxic was out and Omnitron was soaking a lot of punishment with the appropriate plating.
