Scholar has 7 cards in hand, plays Turn Loose to discard 6 cards and deal 6 damage to Baron Blade. Hooray!
Well that was fun! I think I may start my own Play By Forum game sometime! I may even make a new section in the Sentinels of the Multiverse Fanpage on Google+ intended for playing by post on there as well. I'm looking foward to the next one!
Well done heroes! And thanks to Pydro for organizing it. I suppose we can get it added to the stats, though it's probably been the longest game of Sentinels ever - 13 days =)
Nice job guys. Advanced BB is still easier, but I like the race the clock motif he has. I would totally do this again
Great job guys! Does this work? Should we start another? Any suggestions that we should set as rules, e.g. PM the next guy?
Since PMs don't send a instant pop-up saying you've got one, that may not really do much of anything.
Edit: Also we could have the Googlge doc sheet editable for everyone, so that way more than one person can go on there and change the things they did on their turn aswell. Copying and pasting the end result of the peoples post on there may be helpful, so that way everyone can visibly see what everyone has in hand as well rather than trying to dig up their last post.
That's true. It works for me because the site sends an email, and I get that right away on my phone. Is there a better way to do it?
EDIT: Was thinking something similar. Come up with a template for displaying your turn (we had a good one), and also put that in the doc.
I think everything we've got so far is just great after the first game, so other than my previous i've got nothing else! Of course only one game makes it hard to work out any kinks that may arise as more games are played.
Great game!
It was nice to be able to play on the forum since I'm away from my gaming group for 2 weeks and hasn't played a single game since (other than this forum game).
One point I would add is about knowing the cards. For me, I don't remember all the cards very well, so when I'm away from my cards, I won't know exactly what happened. For instance, I can't remember how much damage Hasten Doom deals.
Any suggestions for people who don't remember the cards or don't have the cards with them at the moment?
Originally i was going to type up every card that was played, but realized that GtG might not want all of the text floating around. If they give the ok, we can do that next time.
The google doc was editable by anyone who sent me a PM with their email address, as I requested. I only got PMs from two people.
I don't know the cards by name at all really. But it's not like the game has to move quickly, so it's no problem to wait until you have the cards at hand.
I think the PM works well as a "next turn nudge" since it sends an email.
I have mine disabled so it doesn't send e-mails, nor do I even check my e-mail too often. In fact I check the forums more often than my e-mail. So it may be just me, but i'm more likely to see the topic updated rather than an pm.
Guess I overlooked the sending PM part of it, though it is possible to make it globally editable for all, and the creator can undo things back to a previous state so if anyone goes on and screws around with it there wouldn't be much of an issue with that. As collecting e-mails from different people would become a little troublesome.
The topic is updated when you take your turn, since you're posting in it. Sending the PM is a courtesy, and certainly useful for most people I think.
Getting email addresses from 4 or 5 other people is not really a problem, if they bother to send them =). Having a globally editable doc could be a lot more hassle - is everyone going to check the revision history before making an edit to see if it was messed with? But it could be worth a try.
