Lets hope it's not all in her mind.

I honestly cannot imagine Christopher and Adam having a real argument let alone a fight. c.c

Remember, the sound of someone being possessed by an evil psychic entity in the Multiverse is "Fwoop!"

And I think my request was perfectly reasonable. :V Obviously, "Expatriette versus the Multiverse" is going to have to be an episode topic for voting. That someone else will have to nominate because I'm poor. :(

The color coding of heroes and villains and the psychology of color is a whole big ol' thing. There are obvious exceptions and counter-examples to all these ideas, so they're less rules and more generalities, and they hold more true in the silver age than later when people were intentionally messing with the color schemes and playing around with antiheroes.

Bright primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and white are usually heroic. They're colors often associated with flags, which a lot of early heroes were designed to reflect.

Secondary colors (green, purple, and orange) and gray are usually villainous, or at best anti-heroic, and especially if they're darker or unnaturally saturated.

Black can go either way as a base color to make anything added to it more dramatic, but it tilts towards villainy.  Heroes who wear black mostly started out as the outsiders, untrustworthy and dangerous.

And sure, the Hulk is green-purple, but he's also not exactly a heroic character; at best he's a weapon you can point the right direction and hope it doesn't come back your way.

The psycology of color is complicated, but in general humans dislike colors that suggest disease, decay, and injury. A pure bright red is probably okay, but blood-red is rarely a good sign. Dark purples often suggest bruises, while dark greens usually look more like rotting plants than a cheerful meadow.

And yellow is tricky -- while a slightly orangey yellow can have a golden effect (good!), adding even a little green into yellow makes it suggest sickness (it's the color of bile), and darkening it at all pretty rapidly gets into a gross mustardy color that probably doesn't go with a hero. Yellow is very common as an accent color, but very few heroes wear primarily yellow clothes; at best, it's combined with equal amounts of red or blue to balance the outfit.

There was an old Wizard Magazine article where Kurt Busiek talked about heroes wearing Red or Blue fighting villains wearing Green and Purple.
Superman and Spiderman being the best examples since so many of both their bad guys use those colors that contrast with the good guys pallet.
He also basically did a “writer’s room” to whip up a color contrast villain for Samaritan and while it was a long wait Infidel did get a comic.

Not to give anything away, but re: Expatriette vs. the Multiverse, I discovered some dialogue between her and Tachyon in Sentinels of Freedom that goes over just that! :D It's like they knew people would want to know.

I submitted Expat vs the Multiverse as a topic for the Letters Page myself.

Thank you, Powerhound. :)

Could we get a thread for non patreon supporters to throw out suggestions for supporters to consider?

I got some ideas but am broke an if no one would bother reading my suggestions i don't want to wast time

I don't see any reason why not. There could be some folks who are grasping for ideas that could use the suggestions. :-) I think that's a good idea!

I'm all for it, for the same reasons. :D

Ain't like anyone's gonna expect their ideas to be used anyway.

Of course, the flaw in Expatriette’s plan is that Tachyon also gets up fast…!

Heh, wow, Trajector. That's an old reference! X-D

Nicely done!

It's probably my single favorite post on this entire forum, hehe!

I’m very bad about that arguments thing, because my quasi-autistic brain doesn’t comprehend why saying “please calm down” doesn’t work at all.

The broad discussion of Vanessa’s solo investigations makes me think a LOT of the rare solo Martian Manhunter (my favorite superhero outside Sentinels ever) books, where he’s mostly John Jones the detective, occasionally using his incredibly strong powers to overcome minor obstacles to the case he’s solving.

“The fact that there is a Vanessa Long that has powers is a fixed point, but the way you get there is quite messy.” All I can think of is JGL’s character at the end of The Dark Knight Rises being like “call me Robin” when he had literally nothing in common with Robin the whole movie. They could called him Azrael or Damien or the kid’s name from Batman Beyond, it’d be at least as good in all those cases. (I also like to think that Rule 63 Visionary is a guy named Van Essa-Long, because I that universe, snooty aristocrat males hyphenate their names and his mother was an Essa, from the West Exhamshire Essas.)

Dark Visionary would do a Count Barzakh on Muse if she got the chance.

It took until the letter in this episode for me to think of a take in the Arcane Freedom Five episode. I want to see the Freedom Five Promo versions of those heroes, where they get new high magic costumes from whoever takes the Luminary role in that universe, who is probably not Delta-V Blade. I’m thinking maybe it’s a villainous Naturalist who’s allied to Akash’Thribhut and Bugbear and Quetzalcoatl.

I like that a person who’s racist against spiders is just an Arachnophobe. Hopefully Charlotte’s presidential run can count on Adam’s vote in 2028.

Visionary or maybe Eclipse lesbian lover confirmed: former Bollywood sensation Saari Natsaari.

If you listen to this episode, make sure not to miss the post-credits scene! I can’t believe it took them this long to do Who’s On First, but it was so good, well worth the wait, I wish they’d done more of it.

Awww, that link is dead now, I’m sorry your favorite post is gone…

I really wish it had been! A psionic character whose entire supporting cast are imaginary friends would be so cool. I’m definitely making that for like the Final Wasteland or something.
