One of the top five episodes of the podcast for sure. I love how it begins, the April fools thing is classic C&A, and then we get into an incredible creation process for THE most exciting new hero ever to join the Definitive Edition, assuming it actually will soonish.
“Oh no, oh well, princeling, of hell” - I think that’s far more lyrical than “ice up the whole rat”.
Thinking about the publication history, my explanation of why this aeturnus story disappeared is not that the readership didn’t like this incredibly cool story, but rather it was shut down by editorial mandate because of controversy.
On DrakeWillow’s question, I’d say the problem with Wager Master came from the power of Wager Master, that he was choosing to stay and thereby degrading, and it wasn’t her power doing that. After all, he makes himself lose all the time by following his own rules, and this was another version of that.
