I’m sure by the end Haka won’t make some terrible deal with the vampires.
Seasonally liking the kids? Oof, poor Adam.
Bats?
How cool, Adam lives in a neat place.
Excited for some Sentinels history.
C&A made Ra and Fanatic kiss, what a reveal!
Captain Cosmic, call it quits? Inconceivable!
Oh boy, another ill-advised romance for Captain Cosmic!
You love to see it!
Oh my god, the tiny anti-vampirism constructs are the best worst idea XD
Mo’ vampires, mo’ problems.
Ah, I see it’s time for the “Adam and Christopher talk about cloud drive naming conventions” podcast. :V
Ooh, I really like this question about Orbo having ley lines, I’ve never thought about that before!
Wow, ley lines and an ecosystem? In this economy?
Yes, the Lazer Ryderz soundtrack is excellent!
I agree, the mixed modern/Golden Age art book is a great idea.
How hard was it to keep saying “Cuthbert” instead of “Claremont”? ![]()
I appreciate that Hugh is keeping up his pattern of dating supervillains.
Also, regarding the Prime Wardens of the Round Table – if nobody can be Arthur, Lancelot feels very off to me. Lancelot’s main thing is betraying Arthur, y’know? Gawain feels like a better fit. I’d probably give the Lancelot role to Fanatic, the local loose cannon.
the writer for this one sounds like a real saint of a man
Oh pretty please TLP people suggest and vote for the Prime Wardens/King Arthur thing. The King Arthur mythos is one of my faves (and the bits where Marvel RL crosses over with it are some of my fave parts of Marvel).
(Yes, this does mean I enjoy both American folklore and the King Arthur mythos. What can I say, I’m equal opportunity.)
The episode itself was kind of morbidly funny because dangit Hugh, stop dating supervillains lol.
Honestly, we need more of these stories, it seems. Cosmic having a running gag of dating the alien of the week is great but I don’t especially need details, but Cosmic having a running gag of dating alien (or at least non-human) bad girls specifically is a gold mine.
I’ll happily second that, it sounds like a great idea
1- anyone remember if they have said before what Bathory did during the Vengeance Event?
2- anyone think we might be getting a Bathory team villain deck?
This prompt seems like it may have been a slight waste of an opportunity at the time, since it’s pretty familiar material we’ve known about for like six plus years. What C&A did with it seems like it’s a preview of what the podcast was going to turn into if it had continued, a show very heavily founded upon the History of SC book, where fewer completely new stories were told, and instead the stories they already told us would be fully contextualized into the new framework. This is only like the third time they named a fictional writer (excluding metaverse Christopher), and that’s what we’d have gotten a lot more of if there were May 2025 and later episodes.
Captain Cosmic’s Canadian girlfriend lol
Erszi is a wee little baby vampire who read Carmilla just before being turned, and now she’s like “I identify as an ancient and venerable matroness” and Bathory goes “lol yass queen” because it’s cute to her.
I would analogize a corrupted soul in this setting to a food storage container that’s been left open in a room where bread and fruit has been allowed to mold. The mold spores have been in the air, the container was open to the air…that container is no longer fit for purpose as a food storage device.
Oh God, Adam explicitly giving the emo kids fodder… “I’m a vampire now, but I can still keep my soul, so long as I don’t feed …but I must feed … but I can’t!” So much teenage drama.
Life creates leylines, leylines create magic, magic enriches and enables and endangers (in one word, volatilizes) life.
A Disparation where Orbo is a sorcerer makes less sense to me than a Disparation where Orbo isn’t an Ending, several other Satelland exist, and there is a Satellan sorcerer, and Orbo is his nemesis who ends up killing him at the end of the story. (Paige Huntley is too late to have boinked that one instead, she probably doesn’t feel great about Orbo given how borderline evil he is, but when was she going to have another chance to do a living planet? Not one of her prouder moments, but she’s not the type to regret anything.)
(“Good job, you got her” is another of their 100/100 comedy lines that I’ll remember forever.)
