We’re back baby The Letters Page: Episode #317 - Writers' Room: Justice Comics #384
Heck yeah!!!
Judging by that cover alone, I’m guessing this issue is about Wraith and Legs swapping cities for whatever reason.
It is fitting, I think, that the first episode for this new era is about Legacy and The Wraith, as the very first two episodes of the podcast were also, of course, about these two.
Hm, I wonder if this is the first issue of Justice after the title came back from being on hiatus due to the legal action from rival publisher Justice Comics. That would be a fitting mirror to the recent Metametaverse events.
Agreed @fjur that this is a strong team-up for a comeback episode!
The Legacy fan club letter made me so happy though and I would love to hear more Legacy solo stories, especially those they talked about which have him struggle and face his weaknesses more.
Also I seemed to remember the Iron Curtain power source question being asked before, and it was here. Mostly matches the new answer though.
A sidenote about the new plans though.
I do hope that whatever they do next instead of Vengeance Returned will be worth adding more waiting time to what they had planned originally.
If it’s a rearrangement of scheduled products, fine I guess (although putting the space box before Vengeance makes no sense chronologically) but adding more, previously unplanned stuff before Returning to Vengeance would be worrying for the continuation of DE (looking at you, annual RPG one-shots and Revised Starter Kit…).
Can you believe, I couldn’t even remember what time episodes usually drop. XD I’ve been catching up with 2025’s episodes, I have three left as of today.
What is this intro music??
I sympathize with Adam, I have also been sitting here the whole time.
Okay, better music.
I like that little bit of the intro we tend not to get.
The Disparation rulebook was lying to us? Impossible! Clearly, we got the rulebook from a different universe, it’s true there.
(Also now a collector’s item!)
So glad Trevor is back, too, I knew that from the recent Play Greater Podcast episode. ![]()
Gasp! Crossword issue???
Also oh shoot, is this America’s Cleverst Legacy happening?
I like what injury is doing to Legacy here, that’s not something he’s used to, clearly.
Honestly, I am really enjoying actually getting to see how Crossword works, I’ve kind of never figured that out.
Dang, my boy can steal a whole trainload of stuff!
Go, little guy, you’re about to get your butt kicked!
The Wraith, just rifling through Iron Curtain’s Communist underwear!
Oh man, hearing the letter song for real feels amazing.
…Oh my god, that’s a lot of letters.
Congrats to Striped Burrower for cracking the proverbial champagne bottle over this episode!
Anarchy Past Midnight? XD Is this a reference? Because that name is great.
Imagine making Adam read a letter entirely in a bad Australian accent after he hasn’t read anything in a year. XD
Three letters? Oh my!
Wonder what I wrote about.
I’m glad this was all a bit. XD
So Crisis Man’s deal is ADHD, got it.
I think I would ship Tyler and Mason. <_< I might have issues. Of comics!
We’re back, baby!
It feels so good! And I don’t think they had to change the outro at all?? Awesome.
So delightful to have this podcast back, it’s like seeing an old friend after a year.
Not a lot to say about the main episode, it’s great, but I will say: it’s entirely possible that there is a direct 1 to 1 correlation between Tyler Vance’s travel suit not having heavy weapons built into it and Tyler legally registering said suit to travel as a tourist. ![]()
So, not trying to pick up where the old format left off then.
That was my first thought, also! ![]()
That’s next episode, based on what they said. They just didn’t feel like that was a good episode to return with.
Imagine they had returned with Benchmark though.
Different intro music
“It’s Chris & A, coming at ya with the SC Mailbag! That’s right - original podcast, baby! We’re the new standard!”
Talking about Tyler and Mason as a ship makes me think of that comics panel where Lex is mocking Joker because Batman likes Catwoman more than him. I can definitely see a really one-sided ship where Mason is absolutely crushing on Tyler, but Tyler just doesn’t care that much.
I think it’s more about their own mental state, less about us. (That would have been a funny gag, though.
)
Just my opinion, but — based on what they did said — I think they didn’t want to come back to the podcast on a character like Benchmark; they wanted to come back with someone more iconic, more important, as this was very important to them.
Again, that’s just me extrapolating, though. ![]()
