Adam and I had the same idea at the start of the episode. 
The moment she called Painstake her daughter, I immediately began thinking of Ashdia as “Momstake” XD

God, and this episode has somehow given me TWO ideas for villains. Literally how.
Looking at the image of Ashdia as they describe her, yeah, this is a really awesome looking character.
Ooh, I also was once a Prairie Home Companion enjoyer. Anyway, also loving this outro, this has been an all-around great episode.
Ashdia is presumably a recent development, but when they talked about a prince of despair, my immediate thought was that Gloomweaver’s discordian magic power over Despair was stolen from some primordial ancient Aeternal prince thereof, whose domain then lay fallow for aeons, up until the very goth/emo Ashdia gathered those ancient remnants of power unto herself. Because this would be the demon prince version of finding a gnarly feathered mask in an antique shop.
Ps, Wrath is understood by a lot of Bible scholars to include despair, which is thought of as anger against God for failing to provide hope, and so I like the idea that Ashdia is like Abbados’s cousin or something.
By the way, I’m gonna cape for Acedia a bit, because I see sloth as flat refusal to move, a determination to stay put and waste no energy, and listlessness as movement in various aimless directions with no plan, never getting anywhere and squandering one’s energy in the process. Frankly, if Gluttony and Greed and Envy can all be separate sins, then certainly these two are good enough. I was disappointed that Christoher’s dissertation didn’t make any mention of the fact that Lust is a translation error and the original sin was Luxury (again, somehow distinct from Greed and Sloth).
This is one of my favorite topics, and pretty definitely the best episode since the hiatus for me. I will be listening again soon to relocate at least two further topics I plan to expound upon.

Vainglory isn’t pride, it’s specifically prideful boasting, or just boasting in general. It doesn’t mean YOU think highly of yourself, it means you want others to think you’re great, so you’re lying through your teeth. It relates to Pride very similarly to how Envy relates to Greed.
Argh, lost my pause point. Neither of these was among the two big points I want to speak on, so I’ll be back on yet another day, after listening to this episode’s first half for a third time. It has been among my favorites, but I wonder how long it can stay that way.

Ashtia is a pretty good name, but I feel like they could have used the sin’s original name, Tristitia, that would have sounded pretty demony.
Great, now I’ve forgotten three things I intended to say. At least I’m pretty sure the third one is minor.
Okay, officially giving up. I had vague beginnings of a few points several times, but no concrete recollection of what I thought of to say while first listening. At least one was about Grimm I think, because he’s one of the topics I fixate on the most, but I don’t recall the details for sure. Three listens through the entire episode in a week are more than though; I gotta move on.
