Featureless blocks and cylinders don't get my juices flowing. However, a meeple-tastic add-on/upgrade for the Kickstarter like meeplesource.com has for Dominant Species would be fantastic (with aliens rather than monkeys, butterflies, spiders, snakes, etc. of course):

Each evolved species could be different from each other:
I'm just saying, there are a world of meeple-tastic opportunities out there.
