Future Legacy?

I, for one, am intrigued as to why Legacy is so terrible in the future.

Was Mrs. Parson’s killed? The Freedom Five?

GASP…Young Legacy?!

Option 3, as depicted on the back of the YL character card.

I believe the story is that Felicia Parsons/Young Legacy is killed and Paul Parson/Legacy goes off the deep end because he is now the Last Legacy Ever (because the powers only transfer to the first born child). I think that happens in the same time line as the one the Visionary comes from and from what I can piece together, I think other members of the Freedom Five may be dead in that future too and generally everything sucks (hence her coming back in time to help).

Christopher did say that two other heroes die as well, though I have no idea who.

I remember an interview where it was said that (paraphrasing) “We have a timeline for the universe, not all the heroes in the core set survive”

Final Legacy?

The Freedom Five is called the Freedom Six in the timeline/time period that Visionary comes from, so either more of them don’t die or some other heroes take their place.

It seems likely that this version of Visionary dies. If the timeline that the game is set in is an alternate version of Visionary’s past there may be a future Visionary that is born when the world is not in turmoil. (Future Promo Visionary? Or Promo - Future Visionary?)

If I were a betting man (and I’m not) I’d wager that the final member of the Freedom 6 in that timeline is Tempest. Call it a gut feeling or call it what you will.

My guess is that the apocolypse that Visionary is trying to avoid -the same apocolypse in which Young Legacy may be a casualty- is Voss’ invasion of Earth. If that is correct, Tempest would be a uniquely suited hero to join the F5.

Yeah, there is that one card in Visionary’s deck that shows some heroes in chains with the Thorathians in charge.

My friends and I were wondering about all that, and it makes sense. I’d be willing to bet that Absolute Zero and Visionary die - they seem to have bigger problems when it comes to their actual characters.

I thought that the future that Visoanry is from was averted? And the picture of everyone in chains was merely a possible future, not the future that will be.

Has 'the Legacy powers only show up in the firstborn' ever actually been confirmed? I mean, for all we know, Each Paul has only ever decided to have one kid and stop. Plus, as genetic powers, your genes definitely don't care which kid in line you are.

Legacy going batso nutso over losing his apparently only child is more than enough reason to go dystopian hardcore without adding in nonsense about 'the last legacy ever'

Beevolant is 100% right, the Legacy powers only pass to the first child.

But Genetics of Primogenetor is totally unamerican!

Also, I'm now envisioning a What If? world where they showed up in proper genetic likelihood in all the Potential Parson Progeny. Now if I could only figure out how to justify them turning evil, I'd totally have a new villain concept for the contest, with only 3 days to make it.

But imagine how terrible it would be to have more than one super powered child. One is bad enough - terrible two plus flying? Eep! - but two or three or more would just be unmanageable.

Side note, folks: my new roommate's last name is Parsons. Now how do I discretely discover if he has powers or not...?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

How well does your roommate resist having stuff chucked at him? If he doesn't even notice, you got a Legacy right there.

That doesn't prove anything, Axe. If we'll remember the 50s Superman show, he'd ignore bullets bouncing off his chest, but duck the thrown gun.

So clearly, you have to try shooting your roommate, Evandan.
