The time has come for these gods among men to rid the earth of the normals.
Can the Freedom Five and the other heroes of the multiverse stop Citizen Dawn’s plan to cleanse the earth.
Play as your favorite Sentinels of the Multiverse character, using Marvel Heroic Roleplaying rules, in this Gencon RPG event.
This will be a 3 act event, approx 6hrs.
Greetings everyone.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I will be running this event three times during the con. At this point I am not sure if its going to be an offical con event, or if I am just going to have a sign-up sheet floating around somewhere. Stay tuned for dates and times.
The above said, I am definately going to one of the sessions on Wed night somwhere between 3pm and 6pm start time. I will work on the schedule within the next week.
Join the Freedom 5 and other heroes from Greater Than Games, Sentinels of the Multiverse card game, as they try to stop Citizen Dawn and Citizens of the Sun, from ridding the world of all non-supers.
This is going to be a Gencon RPG Event (one listed in the book).
You can sign up by registering for it when event registration goes live. Try to get a ticket for this event. If you are looking to save the six dollar registration fee, go for Wed one. As I understand, there are no fees for Wed events because the con doesn't officially start until Thur.
If there is enough interest after the 3 scheduled events are full, I will see about doing maybe one or two more (one Saturday, one Sunday).
I you don't manage to snag a ticket, and I do in fact do some extra sessions of this event, you are certainly invited and number one on the list.
I just got an update about Citizens Rise! from Gencon.
Game ID: RPG1345642 Citizens Rise! has been Accepted for Consideration. Wed. 2013/08/14 06:00 PM
Game ID: RPG1345643 Citizens Rise! has been Accepted for Consideration. Thur. 2013/08/15 05:00 PM
Game ID: RPG1345644 Citizens Rise! has been Accepted for Consideration. Fri. 2013/08/16 05:00 PM
The update email states: "This means that we did not find any problems in your submission, but it has not been given a location and is not Active yet. We will place this event with others that were submitted in the same cycle and confirm space for it soon."
Mark you calendars and prepare to stomp some evil SotM style.
I am SO super-interested in trying this; sadly, I'm running my own RPG events Thu-Fri-Sat.
It looks like the Wednesday event didn't get approved; there is no event RPG1345642? Sadness. I would've made effort to get to Gen Con earlier on Wednesday to make that. Any chance you'll still be running it somewhere anyway? Or maybe on Sunday- -I guess we'll have to wait and see how fast your two official events fill up.
Even if I don't make it to one of your games, Good Luck! It's a fantastic idea; I'm jealous. *g*
No Wednesday events have been approved by Gencon, according to what I have read. Wed. events are free events for the most part. They stated that they are still focusing on the paid event before getting to the free stuff.
So keep your eyes open for that Wed. one to go live eventually. :)
I will be volunteering at GtG's booth for Gencon. If all the events fill up and if I find there is enough interest, I may throw together another game or two. So if you miss any of these stop by and pester me for some Sentinels action.
I'm with GB7, so I'll be in the Sagamore Ballroom pretty much all of Thu-Fri-Sat, but I definitely plan on stopping by >Games' booth in the dealer hall at SOME point on Sunday, even if I don't have time to look at anything else! (I actually never set foot in the "new" hall last year, oops. ;P )
And I'll keep a lookout for the Wednesday event, hope it goes through!
Hopefully those of you who posted here and wanted in on these events got your tickets. If not, you can always stop by and see if there are any no shows and fill in those spots. Also, don't forget to recheck these events, someone may cancel and a ticket or two may become available.
Yeah, I clicked "Submit your Wish List" right away, but I was still 2000-somthingth in line, and Wednesday was sold out by the time I was processed. I'll keep an eye on it and snatch up a ticket if any become available, otherwise I'll just show up at six and hope somebody else doesn't! I'll be the six-foot wiry guy in the worn-out blue movie!Avengers tee-shirt (with Coulson, heh) and a blue bandana. See you then!
If you wanted to participate in Citizens Rise! And were unable to get tickets to this event fear not.
I will be giving event materials to a friend of mine who will be run some of the Action Scenes and/or Acts at Games on Demand.
All you need do is show up with generic tickets and if he is available, he will run some Sentinels of the Multiverse action for you.
So, check in with Games on Demand or stop Greater Than Games booth (I will be volunteering there) and I will point you in the direction you need to go to get your SotM on.
Here is an post-con report for those who are interested. I ran this event 3 times and everyone seemed to have a blast.
This event took our heroes from the streets of Megalopolis, to the Ruins of Atlantis, and ended up on Insula Primalis, where they faced Citizen Dawn.
Everyone seems to love Tachyon, as she was the only hero to be picked at all three events. She was also responsible for defeating the krakken in two of the three events. After the heroes learned there was simply no way to beat the beast down, she used her super speed to get the Krakken to attack her and then using here lightning fast agility and relexes to make the giant beast tie its tentacles into knots, taking it out of the fight.
Game session two was awesome with Unity riding on the back of her massive T-Rex bot, eating and stomping on Citizens of the Sun minions.
Session one featured the Wraith, who was instrumental in defeating the forces attacking the city while never even leaving her base. She coordinated via communications satellites, and used her tech skills to cause havoc with the Citizens of the Sun gadgets and vehicles, making it easier for the rest of the team to take them out.
Thanks to all who participated. I look forward to running this again in the future and I have already started on a new event.
I wish my memory was a bit better, but running multiple demos at the booth for four days has made it all a blur.
Here is a breakdown of the hero groups for the three sessions I ran:
Session 1: Tachyon, Wraith, Expatriette, Argent Adept, plus two more. I cant remeber who. Perhaps Ninjetticat can refresh my memory, as he showed up for this and there was a no show so he got into some Sentinels action. I remember him, but I can't for the life of me remember who he played. Feel free to remind me and possibly remeber who the other hero was as well.
Session 2: Tachyon, Omnitron-X, Unity, Tempest, and again two others that escape me at the moment.
Session 3: Tachyon, Bunker, Omnitron-X, Young Legacy, Unity, and Chrono-Ranger.
All three sessions featured Ra and Fanatic. They were unlockable character during the event, and the players took advantage of their awesomeness each session.
A friend and I took part in one of the sessions in Games on Demand and it was awesome! I bought Marvel Heroic the next day. (If he remembers, I was the one who played Tempest, the grocery thief.)
Do you have the materials you created available anywhere? The character sheets were really well done and I'd love to use it with my group at home.
The Games on Demand sessions were not run by me, they were run by a friend of mine, Tim. He was running all sorts of great stuff at games on demand and was planning on doing Marvel Heroic so he offered to run Sentinels if I gave him the materials, which of course I did.
The materials (event book) are not currently available. I need to do a bunch of editing before I am comfortable putting it anywhere. I also need to scale up the villains a little. I found that they were not as challenging as I had hoped they would be for the heroes. In groups they are fine, but one on one they were out classed.
Once I finish polishing everything up, I will check with the GtG guys, and if they don't have a problem with it, I will make everything available to all.
I am glad you enjoyed it, and will be sure to let Tim know you had a good time.
