House Rules

I'm curious what house rules people use. I have a few of them and I'm curious what others find fun.

2 heroes

H=2 minimum of 1

Beat Gloomweaver with AZ and Mr. F at Rats and Vats with this combo, but it was close.

I haven't made it a house rule yet, but I want to see what happens if Bunker's Flak Cannon is given the GUN keyword.

Can play with multiples of the same decks if they are different people.

So, you can play with all the Legacies.

Both the Visionaries.

Both Bunkers.

No Wraith doubles, Hakas, etc.

Dark Visionary is still Vanessa Long.  I wouldn't say it's entirely out of the question in comics for a time-travelling psychic to encounter her "evil" double and have them running around fighting baddies together - but it's still Vanessa Long.

Unity should be 2 people right?
Since it says its a Robot that thinks she's the long dead Unity.

In this multiverse, it must be allowed to have the good/evil versions meet each other.  "Thokk!" shows Legacy punching Evil Legacy.

Has it been decided if the Freedom Six Wraith is actually Maia Montgomery or not?

One of my house rules is when Baron Blade flips I have him deal H to both the highest and lowest heroes.

For Omnitron I play that its components are destroyed if Omnitron takes 7 damage in a single TURN and only one can be destroyed this way each turn.

I also like the harder Gloomweaver on Spiff's website.

I think the guy in "Thokk!" is a minor character in some other deck and not the Iron Legacy that's the big bad guy in Shattered Timelines (there's more artwork for the "Dark Hero" and some discussion on this link from Giant Fire Breathing Robot: http://gfbrobot.com/2012/10/29/board-game-news-roundup-sentinels-incoming/).

That being said, I do agree that with the whole Shattered Timelines setup it is perfectly plausible for a hero to meet (and even fight alongside or against) his or her counterpart form a different time.

I'm sure this is not what you are saying, but I want to be clear about something.  The Legacy mimic on "Thokk!" is absolutely NOT Iron Legacy.  Completely different costume and demeanor.

This multiverse allows for a lot.  The mere fact that we are going to have any version of Legacy fighting Iron Legacy, when none of them exist in his timeline, bespeaks to the fact that the multiverse won't fall apart if you have, say, Wraith and Rook City Wraith teaming up across timelines to take down a big threat.  (The game might be a little overwhelmed by two Wraiths...)

To each his own, though.  I personally don't plan to invest in more decks to try to use promos together.  This is the thread for House Rules, after all.

My only house rule is not allowing Chastise to be played on Stealth Bot.

I'd say both Unities shouldn't be played together, because the number of golems in play would make for absurdly powerful Raptor Bots and insane attacks in general.

Well, the only solution to that would be to fight against Baron Blade AND Mad Bomber Blade at the same time!

haha, yeah, same here. It's just… a bit boring to pull this off against a villain that can't really get  rid of your ongoings.

I posted this in a different thread a few weeks ago, but I have it from Christopher directly that Freedom 6 Wraith is definitely Maia Montgomery.

Is there an official ruling on what H is for 2 heroes in Rook City, Infernal Relics, or the Enhanced Edition? If not, I like pcgamerpirate's rule better than the, "Use H=3 for 2 heroes" rule that I heard somewhere.

Thought the H=3 for 2 heroes was more for the Story Challenge to beat a Villan with 2 Heroes.

Otherwise I see H=2 with min 1 is good for most other games.

Neither would I: the only way I'd play with more than one of the same deck with promos is if a friend has a copy of that deck as well.

AFAIK the official ruling for 2 heroes is "Don't." Or more precisely, the official rule for 2 players is 4 heroes. My wife and I can handle the extra tracking, so we just go for it.

If I was going to use a houseruled 2 player setup, I like starting the game with a third hero incapacitated better than simply setting H to 3 or H=2 with a minimum of 1. It's closest to the official version, and you'd get to see the incapacitated powers more.

Yeah, officially SotM is a 3-5 hero game, and if there are 2 players, you'll want at least one person or both to play 2 heroes.

So, officially, H is from 3 to 5.

Home rules are completely fair game, though. :slightly_smiling_face:

Might be side track, what is the normal rules for trying to accomplish the 2 Hero challenge. Is H still 3?
