I was just in a LGS (the "F" is left off on purpose) down the street from my house. Had gone in, against my better judgment, just to kill some time.
They had a cool little OOP game on the shelf, so I snagged it for myself. Anyway, the proprietor told me to wait a minute while he attempted to get some promo items from a company. Making idle conversation, I asked who. He said, " Oh, it's a little company called Greater Than Games." He proceeded to tell me what a fantastic game Sentinels of the Multiverse is, and how he can't keep copies on the shelf. I listened and nodded my head.
The fun story comes in here. I was in a while back, right around the time Rook City was coming out. I had asked the same guy why no copies of Sentinels. He had said, "Oh, that game. Played it, hated it, didn't see any of my customers liking it. Go somewhere else."
He now has a group of people about a dozen strong that come in regularly to play, so he says, and he loves the game himself. It's amazing how popular opinion can sway personal opinion.
And that's my feel-good story of the day.
