How to organize the Collector's Case

I use premium sleeves.

First card-width drawer: Heroes, w/ their character cards and variants

Second card-width drawer: The rest of the heroes, except void guard, also w/ their character cards and variants

Third card-width drawer: Villains, w/ their character cards and variants

Fourth card-width drawer: Environments, Void Guard, and OblivAeon missions/rewards

Larger drawer, front well: Tokens and dice

Larger drawer, second well: Other OblivAeon decks besides the missions/rewards, plus the five Vengeance decks

Larger drawer, third well: The ten Villains decks

Larger drawer, fourth well: OblivAeon-specific tokens, plus the OblivAeon oversize cards

Wide, top drawer: Rule books and a menagerie of oddities: Sentinel points, pins, old tracker cards, signed cards, and others.

It occurs to me that I've failed to include the Vengeance and Villains character cards in the collectors case. I'll need to add those into the fourth well. I haven't sleeved any of the oversized cards yet. Not sure whether I will or not.

Why separate Void Guard from the rest of the heroes?

I’m not done since I’m sleeping as I go but here is my rough plan.  I’m using penny sleeves

Heroes in the first two slide out drawers.  Hero cards and variants are seperate and at the end(with there divider).  Not sure how many I put in each drawer but I left enough room for a spacer in each so I can pull that out and easily remove any deck from either drawer.

Box three is all standard villains.  Box 4 will be all vengeance style villains and environments.   Will have to see what fits where and decide from there where Oblivaeon decks go.

The oversized villain card boxes are nice but I feel like it’s a waste of space(you can fit all the oversized cards, sleeves in one of those sections).  So I need to figure out the best way to utilize those.

I heard elsewhere that the Hero drawers don't fit all the heroes if you sleeve, so you have to do something like that.

Premium sleeves are thick.

Also, have you met those guys? Who would want to hang out with them?

I double sleeve.  I'm thinking that I'll still need a seperate box for the overflow, but I expected this when I bought it too.  I wanted the box, the extra tokens and the completionist Guise.

Stuntman?

I'm a no-sleevin' heathen, so my box is as follows:

Wide drawer, section 1:  all rectangular tokens - damage types, all the original ones for +1 / -1 DR, damge dealt, etc

Section 2: all other tokens, including bagged 1s, 5s, 10s, 25s, the 100s and 1000s loose (may bag those with the 25s next time for organization's sake), devestations, Harpy's (might find somewhere else for these?...) etc

Section 3: Obliv's long/wide stuff, the booklet, the scions, etc.

Secftion 4: Vengeance wideboys, and I've got the large villain card pack on order so they'll go in there too.

Top right drawer - Villains.  For all following drawers, dividers are alphabetical, alternating left-right tabs, starting left.  All decks are card back facing front, 90 degrees counter clockwise oriented from upright.  Character cards are starting side facing front, before deck cards.

Bottom left drawer - Environments, then foam, then Vengeance/VotM villain decks

Bottom middle drawer - Heroes, A-L

Bottom right drawer - Heroes, M-W

Thin drawer up top - booklets, Obliv's standee, comic, etc  No idea what to do with the small section on the side, nor the other section not holding booklets.  Might move some tokens upstairs, or do some print-outs of Spiff's stuff and put it there.

I don't sleeve either, and have my trays laid out as follows...

Top tray - Oblivaeon rulebook, comic-book-thingy, and hero comparison booklet

Large drawer in second row - Front section has Vengeance/Villains character cards, section behind that holds Oblivaeon rulebook and all his large cards (Scions, etc), plus the Oblivaeon standy-uppy-mini thing and the numbered "Hero" tokens for battle zones

Small drawer, bottom left - Heroes arranged alphabetically by expansion, up as far as "La Comodora" (who comes under "C", not "L")

Small drawer, bottom middle - The rest of the heroes plus all Cauldron heroes (the latter in the little baggies I was given them in as I don't have dividers for them, obviously ;))

Small drawer, bottom right - All environments, alphabtically by expansion, then the Oblivaeon decks (minus oversized cards of course), then Cauldron villains and environments (again, in baggies)

Small drawer, middle right - "Normal" villains, alphabtically by expansion, then "group" villains, alphabetically by expansion

Note - Decks released as a promo and not part of an actual expansion (eg Unity, Ambuscade) are grouped alphebetically at the end of whatever deck type they are (hero/villain/environment).

Let's do this!

Top tray - All rulebooks, hero comparison, comic, the art prints, and a few Cauldron sets I've printed off.

Large drawer -

  • Front section has 1000/100 health tokens, Harpy tokens, Devastation tokens, and also "decks" of the old-style dividers for the heros, standard villains, and environments; when I have people playing, I can hand them those as a nice visual way to choose what we want in the game, rather than flicking through the drawers themselves.
  • Next has all the over-sized villain cards
  • Third has the old-style dividers for Vengeance-style villains, and all the misc token (damage types, effects etc.)
  • Last section has the small villain cards, and some spare old-style dividers.

Small bottom left - Standard villain decks, and all the Oblivaeon decks

Small bottom middle - Environments at the front, Vengeance-style villain decks at the back

Small top right - Heroes from Absolute Zero to Nightmist

Small bottom right - Heroes from Omnitron X to Writhe

For the heroes, all the different character cards are at the front, so people can pick the one they want, and put the rest away. I'm kinda tempted to split out the character cards into their own section, as there are the dividers for it, but it just seems to make more sense to have them together with the deck; if you're going to grab the deck anyway, why go elsewhere for the rest?

Here’s my setup. First, I moved the drawers around, so it’s
Big Drawer ------ Villains
Heroes – Heroes – Villains/Environments

All decks are arranged alphabetically
In the big drawer, I have (from front to back):

Solo Villain Character Cards (i used a couple squares of styrofoam from the packaging to keep the cards off the bottom, so you can pick them up easier) with one of the foam spacer blocks on top

Villain decks, from Kismet through Wager Master

Group Villain Character Cards

ObliVAeon-related oversized cards

In the top right drawer:
Team villains (Ambuscade through Sergeant Steel), then Solo Villains (Akash’Bhuta through Kaargra Warfang)

Bottom Left:
Heroes, Absolute Zero through Legacy

Bottom Middle:
Heroes, Lifeline through Unity

Bottom Right:
Bag with ObliVAeon-exclusive tokens (Hero 1-5, Devastation, Destruction Track marker)
Heroes, Visionary through Writhe
ObliVAeon Cards
Environments

Tokens, dice, rulebooks, etc all fit neatly in the big areas. Harpy’s tokens and the ObliVAeon standee are in the small one.

Oh, and having read your post, I’m going to include the hero/villain dividers too. For convenience.

Much the same as many of you, but I will also add:

I’m in the “variants come at the front of the heroes” school. Also the “base hero character cards live with their decks” school.

I cut one of the foam blocks on a diagonal and put it under each of my piles of oversize cards (the villain oversize cards and the vengeance villains) so they sit in the box propped up and they’re easy to get a finger under.

I have to do blood glucose tests, and the test strips come in tubes that are the PERFECT size to fit the round HP tokens. So we have those tokens in tubes by 1s, 5s, etc.

Thanks for the information on how you organized things Andy it was helpful to me.

Thanks for the tip! My husband does too and I didn't think about using the tubs for tokens.  I want to use my token drawer for the oversized foil vilain cards, oblivion decks and Spiff's oversized trackers, but then the tokens don't fit and I didn't want throw them in the top drawer in a heap.

I've been able to create more space by swapping back to the original dividers. I like the new dividers, but they are so thick that I've been able to fit 2 more Vengance decks into the draw with the environment with the old dividers. I've managed to fit all vengance and all environments in one drawer with enough room to easily move decks in and out.

Hmm... Just realized I'm not sure what I'm going to do for dividers, as I have a few extra Legacy and Argent Adept decks... (I am entertained by playing the 3 different generations of Legacy, and I'm working towards being able to play a four Argent Adept game.)

That would be…a long game!

You’re welcome! Back when they were a larger size, my dad would save them to store small parts in his workshop. Now I save them for board game bits!

We ended up playing a five Argent Adept game. To help keep track of what was going on, we adopted the practice that whenver one player was passing a power to another, they would pass it to the left. Once we were all fairly well set up, we’d pass powers all around the table and then the original player would get an additional power and each player in turn in reverse order, would start activating the accompany text of various Rhythms and Harmonies. Akash’Bhuta lasted four rounds.

Four rounds? Must've put up a heck of a fight! :D

What is everyone doing with their boxes the foil heroes and foil villains came in?  The foil villains one in particular is quite nice and I was disappointed that it doesn't quite fit anywhere in the collector's case.

I’ve kept the foil villain box sitting on top of it and I never expected the box it came into was going to fit into the collector’s case much like the foil hero box.  I have the non foil printing of the oversized villains so I only plan on using the Foil villains if someone comes to my house.
