How you never thought you'd beat the Dreamer...

...By using Rampage.

This is a bit of a while in me getting around to it, but here goes...

The setup: couple weeks ago, our group is playing The Dreamer. I randomly select an Environment, and lo and behold... The Wasteland is chosen.

Oh. Dear. God.

Myself, I chose to play as Legacy, another guy as Haka, and another as the Scholar, for the sweet, sweet healing. The first couple rounds result in me getting my face kicked in by the Environment and Projections, as I play Lead From The Front on the first round. Haka takes some time getting going, per usual, and the Scholar tries to keep us standing. A couple rounds in, after Haka clears a couple projections and I'm about one nutshot away from keeling over, I finally give the Environment the One Finger Salute and play Danger Sense.

About this time, Haka realizes he can finish this thing in the one way you're probably not supposed to: by playing Rampage. Juggling the numbers, Rampage rocks Legacy and the Scholar for a token amount of Ouch, then wipes the board of all Projections and half the Environment seeing as they're all at 5 HP or below... the Dreamer, having been at full health, goes down to 1 HP, then survives the Environment round, which if memory serves involved Legacy giving it one last middle finger before the game was up.

Dreamer flips, we win with her at a mighty, mighty 1 Hit Point.

That game was in direct contrast to our first game against her, when we managed to not lay a single point of damage on her; not even the Environment dealt her damage. Somehow I feel like that should be an Achievement...

Anyway, just thought it was an odd enough situation to share. =) Have fun now.

Maybe I'm mising something, but once she flips, you still need to get Hx2 projections under her, so......how did that happen?

Rampage destroyed the last of the prjections to put them under The Dreamer which jappened to be enough to get the needed amount thus winning the game would be possible if she survived until her turn, which she did. That's what  I got out of it.

Yeah, but what's throwing me off is "Dreamer flips, we win" after all the talk about Rampage.

You only put projections under the Dreamer after she flips - before then, they just go into the trash as normal. Once there are none left, she flips and from that point you start putting them beneath her card.

Yeah, that's the part that I'm curious if the OP missed.

Yup, once we got her where we could put cards under her, we managed to whittle all the remaining projections away 'til they all only had 5 HP left or less; then Rampage wiped them all out at once, putting them under her card, taking most of the Environment cards with them. Then, she survived the Environment turn for the win. In all, about seven or eight cards got popped in total in one round off Rampage.

Also, a couple had found their way under her card before the endgame; Rampage, if memory serves, took out five, when there were three under her already.

I've also not slept since midnight Friday/Saturday, so there's that, too.

oh, so she flipped, and THEN you rampaged. that's a bit different.

I won a dreamer game where I played a first turn rampage.  That was pretty sweet, but the Tempest player was not very happy with me...

I could see that, but really Tempest has a hard time facing the Dreamer with or without Haka's "help".

Dreamer is one of the few games where I actually prefer Sacrifce Tempest, as Grevious Hailstorm and Electrical Storm become fair game at that point. Allow him to get to his awesome Localized Hurricane or Cleansing Downpour more quickly.
