I love the Idealist

Nothing too complicated. I love the flavor text attributed to the Idealist. She's funny, witty and creative and has a lot of fun being a superhero. I imagine the darker stories involving her would hit the reader in a particularly hard way since she's so happy and go lucky all the time even when fighting the monstrous Spite.

I'm sold on all four of them, to be honest.  Good story.  Good interpersonal relationships.  Good power sets.  Good design.  That's four goods.  Four goods!  That's as many as four ones.  And that's wonderful.

Do you happen to have any cakes?

I'd love the Idealist too if I had Vengeance. *grumble*

I love all the Sentinels as well, even Writhe is growing on me. I really liked his backstory, but he felt a little shoved in there. Having art and flavor text has helped out with that immensely. It was the card Team Communications that sold Idealist for me.

I am really fond of this team, too. My favorite flavor text is the "Hey, Eugene, catch !" For some reason, it makes me smile each time I read it. There's nothing like treating the former criminal black blob of darkness on your team as a fellow human and friend.

And then you flip the Idealist and fall to pieces.

I wasn't going to mention her incap, but yeah, pretty much.

It's going to ruin my day when she turns out to be the Cosmic Being's vessel...

Or, when her consciousness becomes Con.

I have a theory that the Idealist isn't "real" in the conventional sense.  I think that she might be a construct who sincerely belives that she is a little girl- enough so that she remains one.  Literally, she is an "idea".

The incap might be when she figures it out...but it might not be permanent!

1. Her power source (in her bio) is listed as "unknown"- NOT telekinesis.

2. In all of her artwork (except Team communication), her constructs are connected to her eyes.  I think they are more "extensions" of herself than constructs.  Her construct form is basically changing shape- the little girl remains solid, but an extension of her forms another shape.  but they are still one thing.

3. Team communication is the ONLY art where her construct is a separate thing.  I can't help but htink that this is after she figures it out and goes to pieces... and then re-forms with a new awareness.  After all, you can't keep an idea down forever!  I bet as soon as they give permission, that head will coalesce into her normal shape.

4. Her mother (who tried power a machine using her) might know the truth- that she never existed before the machine, and it brought her INTO existance.  Instead of stealing her memories, she simply never had any before that moment.

I also love the Idealist, she's so postive… "Positively Stabby"

I am curious about her mother though, I feel like there is more to her, especially since we never get her name and she disappears from the story after mainstay throws her through a wall. Probably dead, but they don't say that and I count that as not seeing the body

She teams up with the drunk driver who killed AZ's girlfriend and they go on a violent rampage?

Along with the guy that killed Wraith's boyfriend.

And that guy who never tips when AA serves him.

Also known as the man whose body will never be found.

Braithwhite, that... That is beautiful. It makes a great deal of sense. Awesome deductions. Not so sure on #3, but the idea of everything you said strikes a very strong cord for me. Great stuff - thanks for sharing this!
