So I had a question about Imbued Vitality: Do it's effects go away when the card is destroyed?
I have been playing it that way since normally all buffs go away when the card causing them is destroyed. However, last time I played with a new player who argued that this wasn't really a buff but a change in HP type of card and that much like other cards that grant HP increases the effects should not disappear when the card goes away. he felt that all cards affected would remain targets, while all new cards played after Imbued Vitality was destroyed would be played normally. Seemed a stretch to me, but it does follow some logic (it also makes for an interesting rest of the game).
Just wondering if anyone played with that interpretation.
I figure that the cards only remain targets while Imbued Vitality is in play - it's a distortion in reality which is causing everyone's stuff to come to life. The moment that distortion ends, it all turns back into inanimate objects again. There's nothing which says that the effects of the card remain active after the card is destroyed, either.
I'm sure they stop being targets when Imbued Vitality goes away.
What I have always wondered is if they should technically keep any damage on them in case Imbued Vitality comes back, but I have never actually kept track of it. I've never had Imbued Vitality stick around long enough to have much effect.
For a counterpoint, you could point out that back when the Staff of Ra and Absolution increased max HP, the HP gained would be lost when the object was destroyed.
I wonder... If Chrono were to put a Bounty on a ongoing card that has become a target, what would become of the bounty? Would that be the target leaving play, thus fulfilling the command or would the Bounty be left there forever until someone destroys the Bounty itself?
