Interest in a Let's Play thread?

I don't often have serious time for video games, but I used to really love the X-Com games. (I don't own a console and have two young kids, so the new reboot is not up for discussion.)  I've instead found a nifty free open-source game that keeps the spirit of the old X-Com games while trying to update the story in a couple ways.

It deserves more exposure than it's gotten, and I'm contemplating trying to start a "Let's Play" thread for it either here or at VGG. These would not be videos, as I have no good recording capability and I much prefer text to video to allow people to ahve soldiers named after them or contribute to strategic discussions.

Would anybody here be interested in participating in such an event. (Incidentally, related to my attempt to post the Grasshopper's drawing of Absolute Zero, is there a way to post a picture directly from hard drive to forums without having to create a weblink for it?)

There seem to be multiple re-implementations; which one do you find best? I'm not sure what you mean by "Let's Play".

A "Let's Play" is where someone plays a game and basically reports back their progress. In the case of a YouTube Let's Play, the person is recording themselves playing the game and commentating over it (either taking as they play the game, or as a commentary edited on after the gameplay is recorded). In a written version, I think the person basically plays the game (usually taking screenshots as they go), and then writes up what happened in that session, putting in appropriate screenshots (and sometimes embedded videos of cutscenes) as they go. So it's like a post-by-post walkthrough of that particular person's run through a game.

The game I was proposing to do this with was UFO: Alien Invasion, assuming I can figure out a way to post screenshots straight to the forum rather than having to post them to something like Picasa or Photobucket first.

The one other thing I'd note about what I was proposing in this instance was that I was going to try to get input from the other forumites regarding improtant tactical decisions like locating bases, projects to research, and production items to queue. UFO:AI also allows a lot of renaming to soldiers, and folks would get the opportunity to have somebody named after themselves, including selection of speciality/armament.

OK, now that I figured out the personal photo gallery at VGG, I've decided I"m going to at least try to start it up. Go here if you're interested.
