Due to an unlucky set of circumstances (namely, Bloodsworn Judgement), Chaos Lord ended up being placed underneath Kaargra Warfang. Chaos Lord makes it so that the first time you take damage each turn, you get to play the bottom card of your deck.
It completely broke the game to have it on Kaargra Warfang. Every time we hurt Kaargra Warfang she got to play another villain card. It was a three player game and each of us hit her + the environment, which meant the villain played 5 cards in one round. We lost quite quickly.
My question is - should we have not allowed that title to be played on her? Chaos Lord doesn't even look like it would normally be earnable by villains (it specifically mentions players + hero cards). But in this one case, she *can* earn it, but then it means game over (unless she happens to be at a low HP, but she was at ~35 HP when she earned the title).
That bums me out. It's frustrating to play the game for an hour and then get a draw that's basically instantly game over. I know it's rather unlikely to happen but it makes me not want to pick that villain again.
It is definitely a super-bad situation, but part of Sentinels is ocassionally having to deal with such situations. (Such as this one.)
For what it's worth, if I found myself in your shoes, I would immediately de-prioritize hitting KW herself (and try to kill any environment that was doing so), except for when I could deal at least ten damage in a single turn. Instead, concentrate on building up Favor to twenty, and only *then* attack her directly. (I actully suspect that that might be a good way to deal with her in general, but am not yet sure...)
Chaos Lord is devastating to have on Kaargra. The only ways to clear it are flipping her, End of Days, or Adept's destruction that costs an instrument.
How I normally deal with Kaargra is get her down low in health, usually 5-10 based on environment damage and leave her until we can finish her off and reach 20 in the same round. There are times you have to go away from this, but you don't want to get rid of her and then have Bloodsworn Judgement hit right before you would win.
When she gains a title like Chaos Lord or The Seeker it changes the game drastically. Or the one game when she picked up Mindbreaker, and then was hit by the environment and gained the Indiscriminate, which with Captain Cosmic in the game soon led to Champion. That was a rough game, and we did not win.
We have 2 house rules we use with Kaargra Warfang:
1. The only title that does nothing under Kaargra Warfang is Living Weapon. We house-rule it to increase the first damage dealt by her each turn by 2.
2. We put titles back in the title deck once (H) are in the title area. We line them up in order they entered play, and when a new one comes into play (or returns from a destroyed target) if more than (H) are in play we put the oldest one back in the deck until only (H) are in play. Makes it easier to manage and makes Bloodsworn Judgement more threatening later in the game.
None of those would actually work. All of the title cards are not considered to be hero, villain, ongoing, equipment, or environment cards and plus they are indestructible so they can't be destroyed by any of those effects. And if they are on Kaargra then they can't be removed at all as long as she is a target, so you need to have her flip so she is no longer a target then destroy another target to move it back to the title area.
