Scion is most definitely the Time-Crazed Prisoner. Or maybe Augustus.
I'm betting that the scion's "not-unfamiliar yet unrecognizable" voice belongs to Baron Blade. It would make sense for him to be giving backhanded compliments to the heroes in a smirking tone and also refer to Setback as Mr. Riske. Also, the idea that this scion wants to steal the cosmic entity's power for themselves plays directly into the idea I posted in December (https://greaterthangames.com/comment/122180#comment-122180) about a cosmic powered Baron Blade returning in the finale (which is very much in keeping with the comic book tropes of Doctor Doom stealing the Silver Surfer's power).
Isn't Baron Blade getting a hero deck?
We don't actually know that.
Edit: we strongly suspect that, but we don't actually *know* that.
That seems to be what the final image implies (at least to my eyes), but nothing is confirmed.
My #1 guess right now is Apostate as the mystery Scion.
My #2 guess is Scholar (Look at his promo through this lens and you can see this possibly making sense)
Also what Christopher said during Friday's Q&A implies it pretty strongly.
The Scion calls them "little heroes of earth", to me that implies the scion is not from earth.
Voss is still my #1 guess.
I really like the theories put forth about Apostate and could see him being my #2 guess, since we know nothing about his backstory. Also more of his back story would mean more of Fanatic's too.
I can't really see it being Scholor or any other Hero.

I seem to remember an old quote saying that Voss wont return in SotM but will in Tactics, though unreconizable. I'll try and find it but I don't think we will see Voss make his return just yet from where ever he was banished to.

Here we go. The question was if Voss will ever be in Tactics. The response was yes and that he would be unrecognizable. I guess that doesn't rule him out of SotM persay, but I'd but a hefty wager on the bet that we will not see him.

Well another option would be the new game mode provides a way to have villain decks fight alongside hero decks.

That's actually one of the things I love - the diversity of hero backgrounds. We've also got a Maori, Baron Blade is definitely Baltic (I think I remember Lithuanian, but it might be Latvian), a core set that's almost half female (one of whom is lesbian), at least one Jewish girl in an expansion…
We've also got a Frenchy, two Englishmen, a Scot, I think the Naturalist is from somewhere in Africa...
Along with a Maerynian and Thorathian.
I wasn't saying that Blade won't be a Hero deck in the next expansion, I just think that he's also the Scion that turns against OblivAeon. I think the fact that the Scion refers to Setback as "Mr. Riske" is the telling clue here. Why would another character bother with that particular name?
There's evidence that there are multiple Scions. Perhaps part of how the heroes defeat OblivAeon is by finding ways to turn them against their master.
We've already got time travel and multiple universes. Baron Blade could very well be BOTH a playable Hero and a Scion Villain.
(And probably even an environment.)
The thought of playing against Baron Blade with Baron Blade in Baron Blade is not as appealing as it was with Omnitron. Sounds disgusting actually.
