Just received WotC - Observations

Some observations and thoughts on Sentinels Comics following the receipt of WotC...

- Cpt. Cosmic's deck, "Harsh Offense": There is a new character there. I might be wrong but I have a strong feeling that she got her powers the same way Captain and his brother got theirs... Cpt. Cosmic flies into space, has yellow glowing eyes, has a yellow 4-pointed star on his chest and creates yellow constructs of energy. Infinitor flies into space, has green glowing eyes, has a green 4-pointed star on his chest and creates green constructs of energy. That lady on "Harsh Offense" flies into space, has blue glowing eyes and has a blue 4-pointed star on her chest. Now, we don't know if she's able to create blue constucts of energy, but I still see some pattern there... Also, does anybody know why both Cpt. Cosmic and Infinitor designed their costume with this star on the chest? Did they chose this design independently or did one of them copied the other?

- Super Scientific Tachyon incapacitated side: Ok, this card is available since a while already, but looking again at it, I get a strong feeling that the scene might be taking place at the enclave of the endlings. The style and background is oddly reminiscent of the entire deck of the Enclave of the Endling... For example, if you look at the card "The Endling Refuge", you'll notice that the same red dots and yellow lines are there on the walls... Not sure what it implies though...

- Progeny's deck, "Hour of Reckoning": Progeny looks like he's been beating the crap out of Legacy for some time already and you get Dark Visionary standing there, quite close to Progeny actually, and not inside her cocoon... Looks really evil to me :(... Thoughts?

- Kaargra Warfang's deck, "Orrim Hiveminded" and PW AA incapacitated side: This eye-thingy with tentacles looks like it's the same on both cards... Red mildly-glowing eye, a set of tentacles with protuding spikes... Although they're not the same size, I'm pretty sure they're at least of the same species...

- I was looking for another card and fell on this card : "Fixed Point" in Time Cataclysm deck. Quote: ""This event must occur in every reality across time." Omnitron-X posited. The Visionary just hung her head. Not one Vanessa Long could be safe." On the card, there's a young Vanessa in hospital clothes... It sounds interesting to me...

Now I've got some theory, but you're all so much better at formulating those (and I greatly enjoy reading all this crazy stuff on the forum...!). Is it all old news or does anybody finds something interesting?

Cosmic and Infinitor's Blue Sister: Maybe -- not the same pattern as the other two, but maybe

SST/Endling similarity: Not seeing it

Progeny/Dark Visionary being evil: Maybe. Note that NightMist is right next to Dark Visionary. Dark Visionary is also surrounded by green energy. I don't know what any of it means.

Kaarga/PW AA/tentacle eyes: I see the similarity. Perhaps PW AA was shrunk?!

Yeah, it's definitely not the same pattern on her outfit, but the fact that the two brothers have the same symbol on their chests justs tickles me… I'd really like to know when each of them chose this symbol and why…

Have you took the two cards and put them side by side? "The endling Refuge" has the same broken yellow lines and big red dots on one of the twisted columns as the ones seen behind Tachyon on SST's backside. We know that Black Fist and Legacy might have visited the Enclave in their young days, maybe Tachyon was with them…?

On the card, Nightmist mentions that she can't reform or she'll get destroyed. One way to see it is that she might be talking to Legacy, telling him that Progeny (and Dark Visionary) is too strong for her and that she can't save him… This, or Nightmist turned evil too (wich would explain how Matty got her Dark Watch membership… :O). Also, Dark Visionary seems to simply use green instead of purple when using her powers on her promo card… perhaps it's more fashionable?

That's a possibility…!

While I'd like to say endlings and sst, I do feek the need to point out that similiar lines are used in most of the "alien tech" pictures. Mostly Voss, so it could easily not be connected to the specific location andinstead just be artist shorthand for high tech

Could you point me to a specific card? I just went through Voss' deck and while I see some yellow lines and red dots, none of them show a similar pattern as seen in the Enclave…

I don't have the card in front of me, but I do remember seeing Harsh Offense and thinking of Star Sapphire from DC comics.  I'm guessing that since Captain Cosmic and Infinitor seem like homages to the Green Lantern/Sinestro Corps', this unidentified woman is a nod to the whole spectrum of similarly powered DC characters.

I'll bet she's not powered by love…

grumbles about the Violet Lanterns

Don't know anything about Star Sapphire, but I'm at least aware that the Lanterns are found in the whole spectrum. That's what I was thinking basically... Hugh and Nigel couldn't be the only stargazers in the neighborhood, right? :) (Or maybe a few more glowing crystal fell on the earth...?)
