Is anyone else bothered by the kerning in the title of the game on the box? Visually, it looks like there's too much space between the "L" and the "T" of "MULTIVERSE". It's an annoying flaw in a game that otherwise looks great.

yeah, i noticed it. Didn't know the name for that "letter spacing thing". Still it's because each letter has their own fixed width and they are not overlapping. The letters look crowded so it would look better if the top part of the T was above the low part of the L but from a... erm... ¿techincal? point of view it's not really flawed, just doesn't look right as it could.
Yes, that's why it happens, but good typography does still adjust things to make the letters overlap a little. One canonical example is VA; it looks much better if you let the letters overlap. The Wikipedia article looks pretty good on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerning
