Keys (A Short Fanfiction)

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting a fanfiction directly into a comment like this. I don't have an account on any big sites, so this was all I could do. Sorry...

"You lost them."

"I... Yeah, I lost them."

Expatriette sighed, covering her face with her hand.

"How did you lose the keys? Seriously, how?"

"Well, uh..." Setback thought for a while. "I was doing my laundry, and I guess they must have been in my jeans pocket or something."

"You kept the keys to Faye's house in your jeans!?"

"It seemed like a good idea at the time! I mean, what if she went on holiday, and needed us to feed her cat or something?"

"She doesn't own a cat, Pete."

"...Oh yeah."

"So you kept the spare key to the biggest collection of magical texts and artifacts in the US in your jeans, in case Faye needed you to feed her nonexistent cat."

Setback looked over at Mr. Fixer, who shook his head silently.

"...Is there any answer that doesn't end with Faye punching me?"

Loading Pride with a heavy sigh, Expatriette aimed at the lock before unloading bullets into it, shredding it to pieces.

"You're paying for the door repair."

The vigilante pushed open the door, only to come face-to-face with Nightmist.

"What on earth do you think you're doing?" the mage asked, utterly puzzled.

Setback mused that if he could see through the bandana Mr. Fixer was wearing, the martial arts master would be rolling his eyes.

"Faye!?" Expatriette asked, startled. "Uh... Pete lost his key, so I... blew out the lock."

"And you didn't knock, because...?"

"..."

"..."

"...How much do locks cost again?" Setback wondered aloud.

Entirely accurate.

This is hilarious

I love that this is so short, but every character feels PERFECT :D

I guarantee if it wasn't short, they wouldn't feel as good.
