Kickstarter commentary

I'm just here taking about what powers each bad guy I wanna use has. Also surprised to see Kismet running around.

They mentioned she would be part of that team in her episode of the Letters Page (granted that was episode 7) and the summary is on the wiki.

I’m not going to read every LP cliff notes…

That’s your choice.  I’m just telling you what lore we’ve been given.

No real surprises for the corebook, as far as I can see.  We've already gotten a glimpse of Myriad; not-Cthulhu seems to be the new kid on the block.  I'm guessing Gloomweaver is still lurking about for a forthcoming occult/horror supplement.

No he died he wasn’t a god he was just a human who obtained supernatural powers and lost his humanity.

From the Sentinels Wiki, paraphrasing from The Letters Page:

  • GloomWeaver is exorcised from Doctor Medico early on in the RPG timeline (broken free of the Shard with Xian Niu's help) and is free in the world.

When the hell did he possess anyone I only knew he died cuz Lifeline and Harpy kicked his ass.

200K Reached

Again from the quicknotes:

  • Lifeline plus most of Dark Watch (Harpy and Nightmist are busy elsewhere) is the definitive fight that takes place in a graveyard. Lifeline is a blood mage and so this doesn't go well for GloomWeaver at all, being a creature of blood magic. Lifeline destroys the body with little trouble. However, there's still plenty of power involved in there that's now freed up. GloomWeaver uses that power to occupy all of the corpses in the graveyard and bursts up as a giant "rotting god". More heroes show up, everybody's taking chunks out of the body, but Gloomy can just grab more bodies, eat them, and regenerate. This is a really gross fight that crosses over into several issues.
  • Doctor Medico, post Void Guard upgrade, spends the fight absorbing the power animating GloomWeaver into his OblivAeon Shard, eventually taking in all of GloomWeaver's essence, imprisoning him - he's no longer an actor capable of influencing events.

Oh I see did read OblivAeon notes. Anyway. So we got 200k can't wait to get that book.

Is it possible that "Not Cuthulu" from the unlocked adventure book is the thing bound inside of Atlantis?

Oh wow, that would make complete sense! Especially as it seems important enough to have a six-issue arc all about fighting it.

Not Cthulu just cuz it’s called Thulish it’s a direct parody of cthulu? It doesn’t even vaguely resemble the thing it looks more like a Mi-go. If any Lovecraft homage thing has tentacles it’s automatically a Cthulu ripoff. Frankly Howard himself always called his setting Azatoth Chronicles. I wonder how he’d feel if everyone felt his work revolved around an Elder God he rarely used.

Lovecraft would most likely be shocked to the point of risking an actual stroke, if he'd somehow learned how culturally relevant he's become today, considering his utter obscurity in his own time. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't complain!

...granted there's probably a lot of *other* stuff about today's society that old Howard *would* complain about bitterly, buuuuut let's not go there!

Actually Howard was decently popular his anxiety just made him feel useless and he died from loneliness

New update posted https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/sentinel-comics-the-roleplaying-game/posts/2410600

I haven’t watched the video at the end of that update yet, but hopefully it answers most character creation questions folks have been having. maybe we’ll even get a peek at the procedure that let’s folks switch between different forms, like Bunker?

Doesn’t quite go that indepth.  Dave is having them roll dice and gives them options based off those results.

I'm very thankful to you for posting these updates for us, Powerhound. :)
