Lore Questions (nemesis)

So, help me out here in case i'm posting in the wrong section, but I'm reletively new to the forums.

I'm wondering about some of the nemesis choices for heroes/villains. specifically some that don't make sense to me from a lore standpoint, and i'm hoping someone else here can help me make sense of them.

first and fore most, i don't understand why la Capitan is the nemesis of the Sentinels. Did i miss a part where they were a part of each other's stories?

secondly, Kismet and Setback. are they linked at all other than their abilities being about luck manipulations?

i'm sure there are others, but i'm away from my decks ATM. does anyone have any answers for these? does anyone else have any quetsions that they don't quite get?

For La Capitan and the Sentinels:

Welcome!

As Pydro points out ... links ... whatevers to the relevant material on La Capitan I shall point you towards The Letters Page, the podcast that Christopher and Adam have just started doing discussing the lore of the Multiverse. Kismet and Setback are on the schedule for this month so if you can wait that long you should get some definitive answers fromt eh horses' mouths!

I completely forgot about that! thank you, it was bugging me.

And yes, i do know that they are up for february, i was just wondeing if we had an established reason yet  looking forward to the letters page, tuesdays are quickly becoming my favorite days of the week. EDIT: I have submitted a question to the letter's page in regards to this. here's hoping my name gets on air!

And thank you very much for the warm welcome

Welcome!!

I moved this to the "Sentinel Comics World" discussion, since this is so tied to the lore of the whole universe.

Well, if you haven't listened to the latest Letters Page podcast, we now know that Kismet is the reason Setback has such inconsistant luck, and that they dated in high school but one took the breakup a LITTLE harder than the other. In that she tried to curse him.

To be fair, she didn't know she was actually cursing him.  Just like most people who say "Go *** yourself" don't actually expect the target of their crudity to do as instructed.

Although yes, she did take their breakup harder than he did.

Oh yes, there is a rather sad interlude in Worm about the aftermath of someone with hypnotic suggestion powers in her voice accidentally doing that to someone.
