Love Interests?

I was playing with my brother and he was talking about there being love interests in the game and how it would be cool for something like that to be in the game. Do any of you think that this would be a cool idea? Also how would something like that work? Are there any plans for something like that in the future?

It’s definitely something we’ve talked about in regards to flavor, specifically in character bios or possibly on-card flavor text, but as of now there are no plans to implement love interests as an additional mechanic. Something else you may like to try is storytelling through gameplay. We’ve worked very hard to create a set of complex, interesting characters, and a lush world they inhabit, but the adventures are just beginning. We encourage you to explore the interactions between characters and the way they relate to each other, and post the scenarios you’ve created here on the forum!

I once had a scenerio where the Freedom Five (minus Absolute Zero, no pun was intended and just now noticed how that worked out) went to stop Baron Blade from destroying Megalopolis, and they passed. Then Grand Warlord Voss was stirring up trouble at Wagner Mars Base, so they promptly responded and somehow got there, not sure how but they did. They were sadly all defeated. So Absolute Zero showed up to avenge his fallen comrades, he also met up with Tempest who was on his way to stop Grand Warlord Voss from taking over any more planets. Fanatic and Ra also show up because Fanatic could sense the disturbance and for whatever reason had Ra with her. They did achieve victory, but at the loss of Fanatic. The remaining trio then met up with The Visionary who informed them about Citizen Dawn and her gang’s plans, so the four of them teamed up to take her out in Insula Primialis before she can move her troops out for her assualt. Victory was the heroes once again, woohoo! And I didn’t have time to go up against Omnitron, but i’m sure it would of taken place in Ruins of Atlantis since it was the only other environment.

And if you wanted more character flavor/history, all the hero bios are up at http://www.sentinelsofthemultiverse.com/characters/heroes now.

This seemed like the correct board for this thread (instead of General Discussion); thus, the move!

In terms of love interestes, there are all sorts of plans for the future in terms of gameplay and story. Stay tuned!

I made a bonehead move and started a similar conversation to this. I’ve since removed it, but I’m not done with the idea. There are some pairings I have within the heroes, and I kinda wanted to see what others were thinking. Who can warm Absolute Zero’s frozen heart? Who can keep up with Tachyon?

Tachyon is a happily married woman.

Married to her work!

I can see that with a lot of the heroes in this universe. It’s hard to imagine Wraith or Ra taking time away from the more important things to focus on something so trivial as relationships.

While Tachyon does enjoy her work (both as a researcher and as a member of the Freedom Five), I can assure you that her wife is a real, flesh-and-blood person.

Tachyon has a wife? Interesting…

Oooo, so Tachyon has a wife? I think she is now my favorite character and looking foward to seeing the wife someday and what kind of actions they would be able to perform with eachother in the cough battlefield. That’s if she has powers as well.

i’m putting in a request for Ra and Absolute 0 to be closet gay lovers. Opposites attract and all. Not just the fire and ice, I mean, have you seen their wardrobes? Zero has to be in the suit all the time, Ra taunts him by exposing his rippling manly body.

“Hey ra? How’d you lose your nipple?”
“I uh… lost it… um … to… seven… eight… superhuman badasses in the desert. Yeah. And most of them were women.”

I’m calling it now, and if it turns out to be true, I get the points – Unity and Tachyon are totally married.

Given that Unity’s bio says

Recently, she received word from the Eaken-Rubendall Laboratories that there may be a position open for a person of her skills, if she would be interested in working with Dr. Stinson . . .

to be married to someone who you’ve not yet met/worked with would be odd… though wouldn’t be impossible in Sentinels.

Because comics.

That’s how they “met cute”. The marriage didn’t happen until later, obviously.

I still wanna know who Legacy’s wife is. Or Expatriette’s dad.

I don’t think Wraith seems like the type to love again - though I could totally see them doing a future nemesis-love interest (batman and catwoman anyone?) sort of thing for her since they’ve revealed that she probably gets more than one nemesis.

Since Tempest is a different species and neither male or female in a human sense, my guess is that its mate/s are either other Maerynian/s or possibly that Voss killed/gene-bound them when he conquered their world. There could be a hilariously awkward storyline about some hapless human journalist/cop/other person who works with super heros falling in love with Tempest and Tempest being awkward about human gender norms.

I get the feeling that Mr. Fixer is either an avowed bachelor or a widower and I think that Expatriette is probably a total player/love-em and leave-em type. It would also be interesting if one of the members of the Ennead were an ex-lover of Ra’s - I also read Ra as being flamboyantly masculine, but he could be gay or straight and it would make sense either way.

I think that the love interest thing seems like it’s more fun as back story or if it were in a comic than as a game mechanic though…

Speaking from the demographic of the gay SotM player, I approve of all of the above.

I imagine The Wraith probably has a bit of an issue feeling comfortable in relationships, given her origins and protective nature.

Well we can tell who writes the fanfics on this board :stuck_out_tongue:
