Watching the stream today got me jonesing for a digital game, so I had Santa Guise, PW Argent Adept, Setback, Omnitron-U and F6 Unity take out Chokepoint in Silver Gulch. It was quick and fun.
Had three surprisingly short, easy games tonight. First one didn't give us anything new.
Then, Legacy, SS Tachyon and EWAZ took out Greazer Clutch, the Operative and Sergeant Steel in the Ruins of Atlantis.
Last, Unity, FS Parse, Xtreme Tempest and Completionist Guise kicked Ambuscade's butt in Silver Gulch, because that's what you do in Silver Gulch. :V
Given that this thread has fallen to the second page of active topics, I think it's safe to say no one cares about it anymore and won't mind that I took some time today to fill in blanks via the video game.
My second attempt at the Chairman was one of the easiest Chairman games I've ever played. Captain Cosmic and Argent Adept piled support on Chrono-Ranger, who took the Operative down in two rounds. Expat and Bunker both did some damage, too, but seriously, Chrono, yowza.
Next, I went nine rounds against Chokepoint in the Time Cataclysm. I guess the secret to making her harder to fight is having fewer damage-dealing options! Though it wasn't like DW Nightmist, Tachyon and Dark Visionary had a really rough time or anything.
Legacy, Fixer, Omnitron-X and Super Scientific Tachyon helped Dark Watch Nightmist get her victory against Citizen Dawn. Almost made it without her flipping, but I at least appreciated the back to back -- I'm talking twice in one turn -- Devastating Auroras.
It took me four tries to beat the Dreamer, but I did it with DW Fixer, Greatest Legacy, PW Fanatic and Eternal Haka. Haka was the star, but I Fanatic and Legacy were great to combo off each other. :)
Had a very quick, easy game against the Ennead in Silver Gulch, thanks to Young Legacy, DW Nightmist (does no one ever play her?), Fixer and Ra.
My Skinwalker Gloomweaver game failed (that's gonna be a hard one to crack), but I succeeded against Infinitor with Legacy, F6 Bunker, F6 Wraith, Redeemer Fanatic and SS Tachyon in the Temple.
And then it was back to the Temple to help Heroic Infinitor conquer his demons once and for all! Scholar, Visionary, Ra, F6 Unity and the regular Wraith helped out this time.
Still not enough to move that percentage point up! :B
Yeah, I'm gonna just start filling in blocks now. :B Tonight, Baron Blade's buttkicking was delivered by Hunted Naturalist, Xtreme Haka, Termi-Nation Unity and Visionary Unleashed in Madame Mittermeier's Woobly Doobly Doo.
Two games with the family tonight:
Parse, Setback, KNYFE, the Sentinels, and the Naturalist defeated Unstable Kismet at Freedom Tower.
F5 Legacy, Fugue State Parse, F5 Absolute Zero, Hunted Naturalist, and Termi-Nation Bunker defeated Omnitron at Megalopolis.
Much as I like filling in blanks, I also want to focus on Vengeance as much as I can, since I know not everyone's got it. So I'm trying to beat all the villains on advanced!
The first attempt didn't go so well (if KNYFE had had 2 more HP ;_;) but I was able to take out Greazer, La Capitan and Ambuscade with SS Tachyon, Tempest and Setting Sun Ra in the Final Wasteland. Milking the Wasteland for HP has never been a better idea!
Now I'm filling in zeroes on the statistics project! :V Had a super-duper easy game against advanced Cosmotron in the Enclave. Legacy, Chrono-Ranger, TLT, Dark Visionary and Omnitron-U was the right team to take!
Two games tonight that were supposed to be easy, but dragged on forever.
Xtreme Fanatic, Xtreme Haka, Fugue State Parse and Visionary Unleashed took out Chokepoint after a protracted 9-round battle in the Court of Blood that mostly involved a lot of sitting around, waiting for things to get on with it, already.
Then, Termi-Nation Bunker, Xtreme Haka, Visionary Unleashed and the Sentinels got their butts kicked by Silver Gulch and also Ambuscade was there. Idealist went down twice, but at least it wasn't like the last time I fought Ambuscade with the Sentinels, which, coincidentally, was the last time I lost to him. <.<
The morning's Vengeance game did not go well (Plague Rat had 2 HP! ;_;), so I took on challenge Ambuscade for a lark. It was a short, brutal fight, but Dark Conductor Argent Adept, Freedom 5 Legacy, Hunted Naturalist, Freedom 5 Absolute Zero and Prime Wardens Haka prevailed. The turning point was a 21-point Thermal Shockwave from Absolute Zero, dropping him to 3 HP and dropping Ambuscade to Haka of Battle range. :3
The morning's advanced Vengeance games were surprisingly victorious. :) Because I don't mind using spam and cheese in the name of beating something the first time, I think I've come up with a winning strategy, which I would like to share for anyone struggling with Vengeance-style play. (Standard advice of "area-of-effect damage" and "don't use heroes that need to set up" apply.)
1) Setting Sun Ra. You can use normal Ra, because Drawn to the Flame is amazing, but a base power that deals irreducible AoE tears everything apart. And when he finally kicks the bucket, you'll get a lot of mileage per game out of his "destroy all targets with 4 or fewer HP" incap power.
2) Milk the Wasteland. Wait for Con's Bunker and the Ancient Library to come out, then flood the board with environment targets. Until the final rounds of the game, villain targets are likely to be the lowest, so you won't take too much damage. Also synergizes well with Ra if he can get Scorched Earth. Just wait until you start removing villains from the game!
The first game was Redeemer Fanatic, Xtreme Tempest and SS Ra versus Miss Info, Plague Rat and the Operative. Despite those being relatively easy villains, it was the hardest game I played all morning, and Tempest was the only one left standing at the end.
Next, my dream team of Super-Scientific Tachyon, Tempest and SS Ra made milksmeat of La Capitan, Greazer and Sergeant Steel.
The last game was the dream team against La Capitan, Greazer and Bugbear. Bugbear is hard, no lie, but he folded surprisingly easily, mostly thanks to a 9-point Scorched Earth at the end. :D The Capitan/Greazer combo seems to be the way to go if I actually want to beat these. Only two to go!
Well, I went and doo'd it again. I'm not even gonna check, here's who I was able to beat with KNYFE, the Naturalist, Parse, Setback and the Sentinels, in various permutations:
Progeny (oh god, it was so easy!)
Plague Rat
Omnitron
Cosmotron
Matriarch
Kismet
Kaargra Warfang
Heroic Infinitor
Voss
Gloomweaver
Skinwalker
Ennead
Deadline
Citizen Dawn
Chokepoint
La Capitan
Baron Blade
Bomber Blade
Apostate
Ambuscade
And not Akash'Bhuta. :| She blowed the Platform up! I got so mad, I fought another game against her with PW Captain Cosmic, KNYFE Rogue Agent, Hunted Naturalist, Guise and Mr. Fixer and won that one.
Also, Legacy, Chrono-Ranger, Fixer, Ra and Tempest beat up the Vengeful Five, and Legacy, F6 Wraith, Super-Scientific Tachyon, F6 Bunker and F6 AZ did it on advanced and actually had an easier time. Now to fill in those blocks!
Had some fun tonight. My friend helped me with my "beat all Vengeance villains on advanced" quest, using Tempest, SS Tachyon and SS Ra to take down La Capitan, Greazer and Biomancer. One to go!
Then, we had a three-player game to introduce said friend to the Oblivaeon promos. Fugue State Parse, F5 Wraith, Xtreme Fanatic and Completionist Guise had an easy time with Gloomweaver in Magmaria.
And the last game didn't add anyone new! :B
After unlocking the Adamant Sentinels today, did a few random games to check out the new dialogue options.
Rogue KNYFE, Setback, Horus Ra, DW Nightmist and PW Argent Adept took Progeny out in the Block. Depiste losing both Knyfe and Ra, I felt like it was a pretty easy fight! (Horus Ra's "put a card on top of the villain deck" incap power proved amazing for shutting Progeny down once his deck was empty!)
Had an amazing game against Deadline. Twelve rounds, Hunted Naturalist and GI Bunker down, and just Prime Wardens Argent Adept holding out like a boss against Deadline and the ever-decreasing horrors of Omnitron-IV. It was a fantastic display of how awesome Argent can be on his own.
And the others don't add anything. :B
Filled in Gloomweaver a little more tonight with Dark Conductor Argent Adept, Visionary Unleashed, Termi-Nation Bunker and Setting Sun Ra in Silver Gulch. Sadly, the same team did not fare as well against Mad Bomber Blade. D:
I would just like to point out that, despite being the "weakest" hero, Mr. Fixer is now the second hero to hit single digits for number of villains left to beat, behind only Tempest, who's the most played hero anyway. :V I find this amusing.
Super-Scientific Tachyon, Tempest and Setting Sun Ra took out La Capitan, Greazer and Citizens Hammer and Anvil, meaning I have now beaten all villains on advanced mode! XD Now for challenge. :B
I took a victory lap to fill in spaces, with TLT, Fixer, F5 AZ and Greatest Legacy taking out Ambuscade, Bugbear, Greazer and La Capitan in a wild and crazy game. Greazer got eaten by a Skunk Ape! :D It was awesome. You should've been there.
I had been holding off on playing Wager Master until I'd had a chance to play against him in physical form with my group. Unfortunately, the conclusion was that they hate him and never want to play him again.
In unrelated news, after one literally impossible game and one which I would have won but overlooked a loss condition (and you can't rewind once the loss screen comes up), I hate Wager Master and never want to play him again.
Heh. Wager Master will never be someone that I want to play frequently, but every once in a while he’s worth dusting off.
I find he's always good fun to drop in front of that cocky group of friends most of whom have never heard of him before.
Then I feast on their tears as the rules of the game get twisted on their head by the flip of a card.
A couple games tonight with friends, to fill in spaces.
First, had one of the easiest Matriarch games ever, with Hunted Naturalist, Xtreme Fanatic, Legacy and Haka in the Final Wasteland. Naturalist was hurting by the end, but Haka rampaged, ate all the birds, and barfed their souls back in Matriarch's face for a 20-point overkill. :V
Then, we took down the Ennead in Magmaria with Termi-Nation Bunker, Xtreme Fanatic, Fugue State Parse and Visionary Unleashed. Realized just how bad some of Parse's normally better cards are against the Ennead. :B
Lastly, TN Bunker, Xtreme Haka, KNYFE and TLT won against the odds when Wager Master stormed into Megalopolis, attracting a lot of police attention.
Which is why I'm glad for cards like Recompile and Snap Decision as it gives you fodder for them.
