Is there any plan to make more villain variant cards? Or has VotM more or less supplanted that concept?
There is at least two new villain variants in the new Oversized Villain pack. They are for Kismet and Infinitor.
But those will be the last of them since SotM is rapidly approaching the end point with just a final mega expansion on the horizon
I would be interested in A Akash Bhuta promo card, of course I'm pretty sure someone will fan create one if they don't after the storyline is over. Akash Dhartha may even be a great source of inspiration to make such a promo card.
I thought one of them was chokepoint
Chokepoint is a standard villain. No promos for her have been announced, also seems unlikely she will have any as the oversized character card pack is supposed to have all character cards that are not innately oversized.
Chokepoint would seem to come along pretty late in the SotM storyline so a variant wouldn't make much sense in that regard.
The store page (https://greaterthangames.com/store/oversized-villain-character-cards) says both that the oversized card pack contains all non-Vengeance-style villains and promos up through Wrath of the Cosmos, and that it contains all non-Vengeance-style villains ever. Those statements suggest that there actually won’t be any other non-Vengeance villains after Villains.

Quite true.
It says "This set contains an oversized card for every villain which will ever be printed (other than those which come with their own oversized cards, such as the Vengeance villains)." Emphasis mine. I see no mention of "contains all non-Vengeance-style villains". To me, that suggests the final expansion will have its own Oversized cards, not necessarily that it will be Vengeace style.
We also know that the final expansion, like Vengeance did, will introduce different play style to the game. We have no idea how though.
We know that every hero will have a variant character card, but that not all villains will.

That’s a fair interpretation, too. I hope so, as I strongly prefer standard format villains to Vengeance style villains.
Does anyone have any information links on this last expansion? I've heard nothing about it, and would love to see what might be speculated or hinted at.
I'm presuming it'll have that cosmic end-boss villain that's been alluded to in other villains (like Cosmic Omnitron and Deadline).
I've assumed its going to basically be a Coming of Galactus homage. The main thing I wonder about is the hinted at "new play mode". Maybe the ability to swap out fallen heroes? Perhaps a 3+ "sided" villain?
Or possibly facing two villains at the same time (i.e. Galactus and his Herald) - Not just two character cards sharing a deck (like The Chairman & Operative) or mini-decks (like Vengance), but two full villain decks.
