Nov game days with Christopher in Indianapolis

Christopher will be in Indianapolis in November (dates/locations below) in support of the Enhanced Edition and Infernal Relics releases. There will be organized play with Sentinels Points available. Please give a shout if you think you'll be able to come join us.

  • 12-Nov Mon 5-8pm: Comic Carnival

So, I definately cannot make Bloomington or Downtown Comics (I don't have enough time to take off work), though I could try to get off early enough for Arsenal.  Everything else appears to be no problem, except for Comic Carnival (again, can't take the time off work, and even if I were to take off a bit early, by the time I'd get there, there wouldn't be much, and I'd have that long drive back home having to get up early again for Tuesday).

Okay, finally able to get this figured out. (These past couple of weeks have been insane - although not to Christopher's level of insanity, mind you. ) Luckily my work schedule is fairly flexible…

Right now, I'm planning to join you for the Bloomington session on the 7th and the mid-day session on the 8th. I should also make the rest of the sessions, with the exception of Sunday at the Fashion Mall - that one is questionable, but still possible.

Looking forward to it!

Russ

It's great to see that he's coming back to town, as Christopher is a great guy to play with. That weekend is a crazy time with work commitments, but I'll be at Game Preserve Greenwood on Saturday night.

I won't be able to make it to any of these anymore, sadly. I was only able to make it to the ones last year because I was staying with Dakota, but she's at Hanover right now, so there's no where up there for me to stay. And of course, being in college, I still don't have enough money to afford that much gas. Sorry, I would love to make it and catch up with everyone, but there's no scenario where I can make it.

Sorry to hear, evandan55 - you and Dakota will both be missed. Definitely understand, though, and don't blame you in the least.

So, out of curiousity, why is Comic Carnival on Monday evening?  I'm pretty sure that that Sunday is it's usual meetup time, and it's not far at all from the Game Preserve in the Fashion Mall.  Of course, if it truly is on Monday, I won't be going, as it would be far too difficult for me to make for any decent amount of time.  (The Thursday evening is a pretty decent maybe.)  And, two hours to go from Lafayette to Greenwood?  Yeah, possible, but pushing it close (typically about hour and a half drive, just hope for no traffic).

Sorry you won't be able to make it Jeff, but Comic Carnival really is on Monday evening.

Tim at Comic Carnival has been a good friend to Sentinels, so it wasn't fun to have to ask him if he was willing to have it on a non-weekend time. The reality, though, is that weekends are the best time for almost all of the stores, doing events back to back is really draining, and the game stores are simply a bigger draw than a comic store.

We're going to try Monday night this time around. If it's a bust, we'll have to find something better next time.

Hey y'all. Any further thoughts on who we'll see at which Indiana events next week?

I'm coming off a 60-hour work week and am facing lots of work required over the next few days, so any help you can give in spreading the word about these will be extra appreciated.

Consider this a shout! I should be able to attend the Lafayette event at 12 on the 10th. It will be great to just get to play the game again! I've only played my copy about four times since receiving it, sadly.

I'm a recent Sentinels convert out of Valparaiso IN and I was thinking of coming down for the Lafayette event on the 10th.

VanceMadrox, you're from Valparaiso?! That's where I went to college!

Yes I live in Valpo but I'm originally from the east coast.

My wife is a 2003 VU grad though.

Cool!

I'm planning to attend the events at the Arsenal Game Room and Cafe and Game Preserve Fashion Mall Commons.

I'll be everywhere except for Bloomington, Downtown Comics, and Comic Carnival, as I do have to work sometime.

I managed to get my brother to come to Arsenal today. He really loved it, and said "that Andy is a really cool guy."  He also really loved the War Dogs.  Later that night, he told me he is thinking about getting all the sets (including the enhanced edition to replace his core game), and possibly a play mat.

Three sessions down, five to go.

Wed night was GP Bloomington and a very nice turnout. We had two games going simultaneously the whole time and got to see lots of familiar and new faces. I ran a five player games against the advanced Ennead. We lost, kinda badly, and it seemed to go on forever as the few remaining heroes tried to hold on, BUT I think everyone had a really good time.

Thu at noon we were at Downtown Comics. We had a few regulars stop by and only a couple of people we didn't know, so it was a bit of a bust from the standpoint of numbers of people. On the otherhand, as long as Christopher is here, since this is the one store that likes having us during the middle of the day, there's no reason not to set up there and the low numbers of people made it quite relaxing. We even got in a playtest game with some of the Shattered Timelines decks.

Thu evening was at Arsenal and there was a great turnout. Thu night is Arsenal's boardgame night. It's an excellent time to potentially catch the eye of players who may not yet know the game. On the other hand, we recognize that a lot of the regular boardgame night attendees are really looking forward to playing other games. That's not a problem as long as there is enough space, but last night space ended up at a premium. We managed to squeeze three full games onto the tables and had them all full most of the night.

Having had a ridiculously busy time at work over the last couple of weeks, my energy levels have been a bit off. I'm trying to be careful to get enough sleep so I can really enjoy the next few days -- and FIVE more game days at stores?!?!

UPDATE on Arsenal game day on Tue Nov 13th

Posting this here to confirm that we really will have a get together on our normal schedule next Tue Nov 13th at Arsenal, even though it's right after Christopher's visit. Jeff and I, at least, plan to be there.

ALSO, my thanks to everyone who has been helping with Christopher's visit. We really appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of Sentinels players. A special shout out to people who have stepped up to run games at the events, including Jeff and Steve last night at Arsenal.
