Obsidian Field + Technological Singularity

Hey all.

Wraith suffered a particularly nasty demise at the hands of Omnitron last night and I’m curious if we played it right.

Toward the end of the game, Wraith had 6 equipment cards in front of her.
There were two Obsidian Fields in play.
Then Omnitron flipped a Technological Singularity. Ouch.

First we have Obsidian Field + Obsidian Field = +2 to all damage.

Then we have Technological Singularity which says: Destroy all equipment cards. Deal each hero 2 damage for each equipment card belonging to that hero destroyed by this card.

So should that be read as: Deal X damage, where X = the number of cards destroyed x2?
Thus, 6 cards destroyed would be 6x2=12 +2 from Obsidian Fields = 14 damage total.

Or

Should it be read as: Each equipment card destroyed individually deals 2 damage. In which case each card would deal 2 damage +2 damage from Obsidian Fields.
Thus 6 destroyed cards would be 4+4+4+4+4+4 = 24 damage.

I really hope that made sense. Either way poor Wraith would have died as she only had 11 Health remaining, but for future games it would be nice to know how to play this combo.

Thanks!

I believe it’s the second one. Gotta be careful with what stuff you get out vs Omnitron for just that exact reason. Or destroy those obsidian fields… or both.

Right now, there are two types of ways to “multiply” damage. There is “for each” and there is “times x”. The ones written as “for each” are considered separate attacks, and are buffed indivicually, whereas ones written as multiplied deal a single attack. Though today I heard Chris say something about something written in some rulebook to some expansion to some game that is supposed to make an easier and more consistant ruling for this issue. But until then, what awp832 said (in this case).
