Other companies heroes using Sentinel Comics RPG

Okay, so, I was struck by an idea. Using what we know about the character creation in tye SCRPG we might be able to get a rough idea of what some well known superheroes (like iron man or batman or spiderman) might look like if built with the rpg. At the very least we could determine what their power source might be. So, anyone up for helping me with this? I kind of forgot the list of powersources.

WalkingTarget on Reddit did his summary from the recent episode so you could reference that for power sources.  https://www.reddit.com/r/sentinelsmultiverse/comments/8or184/the_letters_page_episode_71_superpower_sources/e06028t/

Hmm... iron man seems to fit powered suit but he could also be tech upgrade.

and if you wanted to play a martial batman then training is the right way to go. But, tech upgrade could work if you wanted to play a more gadget oriented batman.

Hulk could be either accident, experimentation, or radiation.

and spiderman is either radiation or accident.

And squirrel girl is just genetics.

Thor could be alien.

I think the podcast made it clear that the power source isn't as useful to writing up various Marvel (or DC or whatever) heroes as to what part of the character's origin is most important to them. And with various comics characters, that importance can vary.

Take Spider-Man -

He was originally either Accident or Radiation. He just happened to get bitten by the radioactive spider.

Then, a while ago, they introduced the whole Spider Totem thing, and being connected to "The Great Web" was important, and we got Morlun and Ezekiel and Silk and such out of that. So that's Nature or possibly Mystical. (Or even Higher Power, since Peter is the Most Important Spider-Man of all the Spider-Men, which implies he's a chosen one.)

And then there was the Horizon Labs era of Spider-Man, where he was relying on gadgets and super-suits to supplement his powers. So that verision could be Tech Upgrades or Science.

You could even point to the MCU and say Spider-Man was a Battlesuit guy.

Once we get the books (yessss, yesss, the precioussssss) we can see what the Power Source means, other than just as a concept.

Well like they said you can build Heroes different ways. Power Source just dictates what dice you get for stats. Then they are only used when it is important to the story. I should build one later on today.

X-Metal give me character you want to make otherwise I'll just make Jubilee.

For the first time in a while, I’m actually caught up getting things into the wiki as well (if people have a preference): https://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Podcasts/Episode_71#tab=Quicknotes

The real question: what combination could get me a martial batman with a backpack full of shark repellent bat-sprays?  :stuck_out_tongue:
