What program are you using to edit the downloaded character sheet? I use Foxit PDF Reader and I can enter multiple lines of text into each box in the usual fashion (I.E. pressing enter).
Yeah, as Omegatron points out, it’s about the application used to open/edit it. When you open it “without downloading it”, it’s loaded into your browser (e.g., Edge or Chrome). Then once you have it locally and you open it, it’s probably in something like Adobe Acrobat Reader, the full version of Adobe Acrobat, or (as Omegatron has) Foxit PDF Reader. The issue is with the application’s interpretation of the text fields.
I believe, though, that if you edit it appropriately there then open the local file with your browser, it should show up correctly?
That’s how it works for me with Adobe Reader, although I don’t generally use those character sheets. Gotten used to my own idiosyncratic (and ugly) manually-composed version.
I am just commenting to state that I can’t not read the title as “Problem with edible character sheet”, to which my reaction is, “Yeah, there definitely would be” c_c;
Thanks to all who replied. I’d been opening the downloaded sheet in the MS Edge browser (the only thing I use it for). I followed Omegatron’s advice and tried Foxit, and that seems to have resolved the issue.
