Q: Shielding Winds

This question also applies to similar cards; Undaunted and Superhuman Durability.

So, the cards state that whenever (Hero) would be dealt >5 damage from a single source, reduce it by 2.

Am I correct in saying here that this does not have to come from a single “attack”? This didn’t really come up pre-RC, but now it actually comes up a lot:

Spite: On his turn with all his drug cards out DK=2 damage, Phyre=2 damage, basic attack=2 to all but lowest. This adds up to 6 damage from a single source (Spite). Does Shielding Winds activate?

Plague Rat: Vicious Onslaught deals 2 toxic damage and 2 melee damage. If on advanced mode or with Plague Locus in play, 3+3 damage= 6 damage from one source (plague Rat) but again, over multiple “attacks”.

Matriarch: When you kill a lot of birds its quite possible thatt >5 damage could be coming in to a hero from one source (matriarch) , especially if Huginn/Muninn are in play, increasing her damage. Carrion Fields can create the same effect when destroying a lot of birds.

Also, would this like a “per round” kind of thing? I’m assuming yes but I have really not much to base it off of.

No.
Each ‘instance’ of damage is a separate source, thus it would be reduced by the likes of fortitude (or increased by phosphorescent chamber) but not by shielding winds.

Shielding winds would work on something like Omnitron’s disintegration ray

(Looking for a second “You’re right” from one of the designer guys in a single day!)

That’s number two! You’re on a roll, Matchstickman!

Woooooo!

I think I should quit while I’m ahead!

Keep going!

BTW, love your picture.
