Quest for a Hit Point Tracker

I've been a D10 user since I got the game but I'm still on the lookout for a better way of doing things. I've used the pack in tokens and I'm not fond of them myself, just too messy on the table for me. I have the old school HP tracker cards but one bump of the table and there's no knowing where we were. Spiffs dial counters are nice but they're a little fragile even on card stock and laminated with packing tape.

Anyone have any other suggestions I haven't found? Maybe a sturdier Dial tracker that's card(ish) sized and thin enough to fit a few of them in my box with everything else?

I haven't found anything online that caught my eye and I'm hoping if there's no suggestions here that I can find something at PAXEast.

I think there's an SotM HP tracking app for iPhone. I haven't used it, but I know it exists and it costs a few bucks.

I use the "Sentinels Sidekick" app and it works great. I just put the iPad in the middle of the table and track everything. I think it cost $0.99 so it is not free, but it has been worth every penny for me.

I don't own any IOS devices and I have an HP tracker on my Android phone and Kindle Fire called Advanced Tally Counter which is nice but I was looking for something more physical.

print spiffs out on nice card stock (bit more expensive but wellll worth it) and actually use DIY Laminating sheets. They come out -supper- nice and really heavy duty. Even without the laminate if you just use good card stock they come out pretty well. Thats what we use, good card stock, all except Wraiths which is laminated. Mostly out of laziness the others arent.

He's right.

Spiff's stuff is amazing. You don't "need" the best cardstock, just 10lbs (the lwoest thickness). It works well, and shouldn't be too expensive. ABout 11 cents a page for me. So, with all the dudes, it should come out to let's see....

carry the 2, multiply by x, divide by toast.....

10-20 bucks. Maybe a little more

I have used them and they’re fine on cardstock but I hoping someone had any ideas of other options. Or even dial counters like that but in plastic or even wood, maybe with a locking mechanism or notch system so they fall nicely on the numbers.

I'm glad people find my trackers so useful, but there is another good, cheap option.  You can use a knitting stitch counter like this:

They're small plastic cylinders with changeable numbers showing.  I found a pack of three at Michael's craft store for about $10, and they should be easy to find for cheap online too.

One other thing:  there are Magic: the Gathering life counters that are card-shaped, with built-in spinners to track the life:

They'll be sturdier than mine, though it looks like they only count up to 50, and of course they look Magic-ey rather than Superhero-ey.  But maybe that's a solution for you.

in that same vein look for legends of the five rings Honor counters. some different appearances., but they will only go up to 40 (and -20 lol)

Now I've been searching knitting row counters all afternoon when I have a free moment at work.

I'm remembering that I saw something at an antique store with my girlfriend once that was a small metal tally. Basically it looked like a slide rule but it had 2 or 3 slides representing each decimal and a little window where they would line up would be your total. But for the life of me through all my googling I can't find anything that looks even close.

Another option: http://www.litko.net/categories/Turn-Trackers-%26-Dials/

Or if you want to be fancy there are Life Counter Rings.

Has ended but I believe they would be for sale again at a later date.

Those are wicked cool.

These look awesome too but they were a limited run and are sold out everywhere.

I think the sentinel sidekick app works perfectly for this. No need for extra paper, tokens, or counters.

However, you do need one of those special phones that uses apps and stuff ;).

True enough.

I saw a file on boardgamegeek.com (i'll have to look up the link later to give proper credit) that was basically a sheet of paper with circles for HP ranging from 40 to 0 (or something like that) as well as circular cut-outs for each hero.  And then you could track all heroes' hp on the one piece of paper by moving their token.

This also makes it really easy to see which hero has the highest/lowest hp at any given instant by referncing token placement on the one sheet.

Yeah, I really wish it was available for Android… But I'm still glad it exists! :sunglasses:
