Question on Unity's Inspired Repair

Hi all!

Inspired Repair says, "You may draw a card. You may play a card. Each mechanical golem regains 3 HP." The way I read that is that whatever card you play off of Inspired Repair is still being played during the Play Phase (which sounds more confusing than it is), and therefore you can't put a golem card into play by chaining directly off of this card.

Is that the correct interpretation? I really can't see it being otherwise, but on the other hand I typically struggle to get golems in play (I often have either golems or equipment cards in my hand, but not both) and want to make sure I'm not handicapping myself needlessly.

There has been the rare occasion that I can indirectly get a golem card out from Inspired Repair by playing an equipment card and then using a power to leverage that into a golem, but for me, at least, this seems to require a certain planetary alignment and possibly an act of Congress.

Thanks!

If you play Inspired Repair during your play phase, it is still your play phase when Inspired Repair allows you to play a card.  If Inspired Repair is played (or put into play) outside of your play phase, then it is not your play phase.  In the former, you are not allowed to play golems; in the latter you are.

Agreed.  If you play Inspired Repair during the Play phase, it's still the Play phase, so you can't do anything you couldn't otherwise do during your Play phase.

Thanks for the confirmation, that's how I figured it should work and it's how I've been playing it.

There was this small part of me that wanted to believe I wasn't as bad at playing Unity as I seem to be. I'll just snuggle up with Argent Adept from now on, or get someone else to shuffle my deck for me. :)
