Quick shout out to GTG and a hello to the forum folk!

Hello all!

I normally don't talk much in forums but I just wanted to drop a line to say hello to everyone and talk a bit about what this game means to me personally.

I got to play SoTM when the EE came out with a gaming buddy of mine who bought everything for the game. We played it a few times and I really, really enjoyed it. I added it to my huge list of games I want to get.

Well last month I finally purchased SoTM EE and Shattered Timelines expansion. I LOVE to game. Love it love it love it and SoTM has quickly become my favorite game. Unfortunately I have PTSD and social anxieties so it can make it very difficult for me to go to my local game store or just met people to play in general.

SoTM has helped change that.

I began playing solo after I purchased the game and I have played it everyday since purchase. It has helped me focus and distracts me from the dark places in my mind. I have played other games solo, but for me SoTM is the game for me. It has become part of my therapy. WHen I feel overwhelmed or just in a bad mood, SoTM takes the edge off and makes me smile.

Thank you GTG. You have done a great job and I look forward to your future releases!

You have a customer for life.

Sincerely,

Gaming Yeti

Welcome to the forums!

Awesome story!

Actually, I found SotM for very similar reasons a couple months back.  I just registered today though to find ways to print n play the promo cards.

It really fits my style as a big fan of the DC/Marvel Heroclix over the last few years and lately expanding into other board games.

Welcome - to both of you! Glad to have you.

Yeah, welcome. Isn't it awesome how games can be such a great distraction from the things in life that are less than positive? I've had mental health problems and in general find it difficult to connect and engage with people if I don't already have something in common with them - all those little niceties and bits of social etiquette are often something I struggle with, and being able to socialise in the structured format of playiung a game takes the pressure off somewhat.

Just to let you know as well, some of us often play Sentinels over Google+, which is a great way to get a "fix" of playing with other people but without the stress of face-to-face interaction (I guess that makes life easier for some people and harder for others, so YMMV). We like new people, so anyone's more than welcome to join in. :)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome.

I had no idea you could play it on Google+ something I will definitely look into!

There is the link to the Google+ community we set the games up in. We don't have scheduled times, but I am thinking about getting them at some point. I just haven't gotten around to it. Most games are just posted at randomly whenever someone feels like playing.

Games as therapy, I love it.  Thanks for giving me a warm fuzzy.  (Well, a cold fuzzy, since you're a yeti.)

Gaming Yeti;

Thank you so much for sharing your story! Sorry for not responding sooner - convention season is killer! I was very touched by your story. I actually just read your post to Adam here in the office. This sort of feedback means a lot to us. We aren't making games to make a buck or two, but to get to tell our stories and share them with the world, so your story is very encouraging to us.

Thanks again - we'll keep on making games, and you keep saving the Multiverse!
