Regular Indianapolis Meetups

Formally known as Arsenal?  Unless you are refering to the removal of the sign, the store will still be called the Arsenal, even though it is now owned by Blue Moon Games.

Nick and I will be there.

Great meetup last night, but very little success. Two straight Advanced games downed teams, two wins bounced back, but a final loss to Iron Legacy sent us home wanting more. To satisfy that need, (as well as the holidays messing with our normal dates), we will be meeting again next Tuesday at Arsenal. Come for the fun! Come for the festivity! (Come because it is the last meetup for the year and it will be 3 more weeks until we can!) Maybe even Craig's heart will grow three sizes that day!

Bah. Humbug.

No imprimis5 last night.  That's a bummer.

As a note to the Tuesday regulars who were unable to attend yesterday, the Arsenal will close down by the end of January.  Blue Moon Games plans on relocating it's library and cafe business to another location, and will likely be moving it's retail business to an online storefront.  The most likely location will be just north of Greenwood.

'Tis a sad day for FLGS.

Very sorry to hear.  It's a great place, and I have a lot of wonderful memories there.

Thanks for the news…

Yeah, sorry about that. I woke up incredibly sick yesterday, and was pretty much insensate with the flu for the entire day. I'm still sick, but at least I can tell people now.

Ideas on where else folks might like to meet? I'm not keen on going to Greenwood. Would love to find something close to downtown or Fountain Square.

That isn't someone's house?

There’s Game Paradise. Stopped in there the other evening for a couple minutes (while waiting for friends for dinner). Seemed like a good place for our kind of games. Anyone been there much or know much about the place?

I would like to [redact] my previous statement.  That previous Tuesday, Nate had stated with certainty that they would be moving to a new location.  However, as of Thursday, terms have been renegotiated, and, for now, it appears the Arsenal shall remain.  However, due to how quickly things have swung already, Nate will not make any more definate announcements until everything has ultimately been decided.

Happy New Year! The first meetup at Arsenal for 2014 is next Tuesday at 6. We have new Dark Watch heroes and villains that I have been itching to break out, so hope to see you all there.

I'll be there with Nick! I probably won't have gone home from my second day at the new job.

Should be an interesting bike ride. I think the high on Tuesday is forecast for single digits. Not sure if that's negative or positive ...

High on Tuesday is forecast to be positive, unlike on Monday. Stay warm!

I would strongly urge you to drive.

With the big snow on Sunday, there's a chance that the roads will be too icy or too deep in snow for me, but the Cultural Trail is usually clear and runs a block and a half from my house all the way to Arsenal.

As for temps, Karen has laid down the law that I am not allowed to bike in temps below -10, but from what I've read online, with proper preparation, I would be fine. I will admit, however, that I don't have all the equipment I'd need. I'd need a balaclava and probably better goggles than my old ski googles which have lost some of their lining.

I doubt I'll have those in hand by Tue. Unfortunately, if it's cold enough that I can't bike it, I probably will just stay home.

A balaclava is really useful, mainly for going under your helmet. If you don't have a balaclava, I recommend a scarf to cover your face and something to cover your helmet (even a plastic bag). Hands and feet are the other major concerns. Hands you probably know about, but some foot coverings over your shoes are helpful (depending a little on your shoes). You can use plastic bags for that, too. I also wear a long, wicking polyster undershirt and warm leggings in weather like that.

I'm pleased to see icebike.org seems to have been resurrected. That will tell you how to prepare for temperatures all the way down to Antarctica.

Awesome! Thanks.

Unfortunately, I think in the best interest of safety with the weather, we will move the Sentinels meetup at Arsenal until next Tuesday. The mayor has asked most businesses to stay closed through tomorrow, so I think it's ok to wait out the cold. Stay safe!
