Regular Indianapolis Meetups

Well, by my count, had nobody posted that they would not be showing, at least 4, maybe 5, people would have shown.

Nobody was sure how much snow we were going to get, but it seemed better to just let it go and push it to next week. The visibility was really bad around 5-6.

Brock, please check and respond to your private messages so I know you got mine.

Great day to be a Sentinels fan, as not only did I get a nifty green box on my profile that says "Playtester", but a copy of Vengence happened into my posession thanks to Craig! As such, we will celebrate with two straight weeks of Sentinels, commencing on Tuesday. (This is all a fancy way of saying that, while I'm excited to get my stuff, this week's meetup was cancelled and we will make it up next Tuesday at Blue Moon/Arsenal at 6.) Vengence will be ours!

I am really excited for this coming Tuesday. I know Nick is, too.

Agreed. I have just organized my entire set in preperation of next Tuesday... So many cards...

Anyone planning to go to Comic Carnival tomorrow?

Yes, I will be at Comic Carnival. Usually I ride my bike, but I don't trust the roads to be clear in the residential neighborhood between Broad Ripple and Keystone that I usually cut through, so I'm gonna have to actually drive.

Anyone have their copy of Vegeance yet? If so can you bring it?

I will probably bring mine. I don't generally use my personal, sleeved copy when playing at public events, but I might make an exception so folks who haven't seen Vengeance yet can.

Thanks!

I promise not to eat Cheetos, bend 'em, or pick my teeth with them

Good time at Comic Carnival today. We had five people, despite the absence of a few of our regulars. A special welcome again to Blue Kae. Very nice to see you there. Sorry I was a bit protective of my cards. I'm like that.

We played one five player game with the new heroes against The Ennead in the Freedom Five Tower. It looked rough at first, but some deck manipulation and luck kept any other of the Ennead from joining the original five and we were able to handle them fairly easily.

We then played a four player game against the Vengeful Five (minus Proletariat) in the MDP. GI Legacy and Tempest with the Grievous Hailstorm were a killer combo, combining for six damage to every non-villain target every round. A couple of the heroes got pretty close to zero, but all in all a pretty comfortable victory.

After my initial playtests of the V5 I was fairly pessimistic that I would ever really enjoy playing against them -- too complicated and too time consuming. Turns out, though, that once you are familiar with them (like all new decks, duh) if you have a little extra time and are playing with people who are comfortable running a villain, it's super fun.

Quite unintentionally, The Ennead proved to be a lovely segue into a V5 game, since they have multiple villain character cards with incapacitated powers.

And I bought the Firefly game when I saw it at the store because FIREFLY! ... and it also came with bonus pieces for playing with a fifth ship.

Sorry to miss out (again).

Have you played it?

I had fun as well, thanks a ton for bringing Vengeance along it was really fun to play, I can't wait to get my own copy once they're in the >G store.

Firefly is a great game with tons of theme, I picked it up at GenCon last year. Be sure to check out the FAQ on the game's site, there's also an intro scenario on the site you can play that's good for learning the game.  The biggest thing I've learned in my play sessions is not to shy away from illegal jobs. The game is much more interesting once you're trying to plan for dealing with Misbehave cards.

(Post re: the Firefly game should be redirected to the thread Arenson9 started.)

Rabit, when are you going to make your glorious return to Blue Moon/Arsenal?

Great question... ![](upload://cMxHQaDq0kbGxwGJQa30HupNF6d.gif) I'm currently dealing with lots of fun personal stuff along with starting up a new RPG campaign.

Hopefully soon... ![](upload://ywbUI0VpiqPxpAJeMwxbOmjwDa.gif)

Well, enjoy the RPG, hopefully make it through the fun personal stuff unscathed, and stop by whenever you can! We would love to see you.

Ok, we should be on hand at the former Arsenal, Blue Moon Games, (confirmed Andy!), at 6 PM on Tuesday. (Barring, of course, the ice storm somehow moving into Tuesday from Monday). More Vengence, possibly some Dark Watch, and lots of fun to be had.

Nice turnout tonight. At least 14, though I'm not sure I counted everyone. We had three games going simultaneously at one point.

Attempted the all Legacy game. Gave up after a while. It's doable, but, we hadn't thought through the strategy we'd need in advance and got pretty low on hit points.
