Normally this would be about the time I announce the next meetup on Tuesday, but there was a strange message today on the Blue Moon page today. This may be simply rebranding the shop to the new name, or may be something else. TheJayMann may have more information than I, but this is the post:
At 11:59 PM tonight Blue Moon Games will cease operating at its current location. Don’t worry this will only result in a short disruption to the services that you have come to expect from us. Below is a list of what this means for you.
1) The awesome gamers from Indy Tabletop are stepping up and will continue to keep the doors open so that everyone will continue to have a place to play. You will not need to relocate your games to another location.
2) Blue Moon Games will not be in operation so there will be no food or retail for sale. You are allowed and encouraged to bring in outside food or beverage.
3) If you are interested in what events will be hosted be sure to check out the Indy Tabletop Facebook page or feel free to ask here.
Stay tuned for further updates on the status of the shop. All we can say at this time is that we are working to ensure that all of your gaming needs will continue to bet met for years to come and that this interruption in operations will only be temporary.
If anyone else has any further information, please let me know for the next regular meetup. I will pass on details once I know more.
Edit: This will not actually affect the hours, but please be prepared with your own food and drinks for Tuesday. We will still be meeting at the same location at 6 on Tuesday.
Yeah, everything is still going on as planned, but the kitchen will be closed for about a month. While closed, they plan to install kitchen equipment to increase the menu to include fresh cut deli sandwiches and dessert options. I may just have to bring in some Chicago style pizza from Union Jack Pub one day.
I think I'll get a Union Jack Pub pizza this Tuesday for the core group (the reason I limit is because there is no real way to determine how many tag alongs will stop in). Anyone willing to make donations may do so, but not required. I plan to get a 14 inch meat pizza (I believe this means sausage, beef, pepperoni, ham, and bacon, but not entirely certian). Don't worry about a 14 inch pizza sounding like it's small, because it is between 3 to 4 inches thick. Drinks will still be offered (in 12 ounce cans and 20 ounce bottles) sold directly by Indy Table Top as a fundraiser, and only cash will be accepted. However, you are welcome to bring your own drinks as well during this off time.
From Union Jacks? No. From South of Chicago, yes. But both are good (and I believe Union Jack to be better, but it also cost a bit more, $27 vs $20). I think the next one I'll get South of Chicago.
Also, if I don't hear anything from Brock before 3pm, I'm only going to get one, because I have to put the order in ahead of time, as it can take between 40 minutes to an hour prep time to cook.
Another solid showing at Arsenal tonight. Not exactly sure how many people were there, as I came a bit late, but at least 10ish.
I did not actually play SotM! Rather, I played Sentinel Tactics. Good times.
I will be at Comic Carnival this coming Sunday, though I don't expect to bring Sentinel Tactics with me, as the only copy I have access to is Russ' and he'll be back in town by then.
I will also, just fyi, be running SotM at Indy Comic Con on Sat/Sun Mar 15/16 from 12-3 each day.
The games tonight were moderately successful, as the first was a close win over the Vengeful Five. Unfortunately, an angry Capitan tore two tables of challengers to shreds. Hoping to bring some new people to check out Sentinels to ComicCon a week from Saturday/Sunday, so will hopefully see everyone else there! Thanks to Andy for running SotM!
Quick note: The next meetup will be in two weeks at Arsenal/Blue Moon/ (new name Redacted) as usual. Please note that the week after that, the shop will be closed for rennovations. The grand opening of the new buisness, which also coincides with our meetup in a month, will be on April 1st (as it currently stands).
Well all, disappointing news I'm afraid. From the latest update by Blue Moon Games, it doesn't appear as if they will be returning to the location known as The Arsenal and the planned rennovation is not happening. I don't know the details, (hopefully TheJayMann knows something more), but we may have to change our meeting location to continue. Hopefully I will get more information soon and share it with you.
I myself just now got a message from Ken stating that Thursday night have been mobed to Comic University, just north of Greenwood. When I asked what this will do to Sentinel Tuesdays, he responded that the shop is completely closed.
