Sentinel TV Shows

So I was flipping through old tv shows and found one of my old favorites, Megalopolis. Do you guys remember it? The one that told the story of how Paul became Legacy? Ivan became Baron Blade?

Any old favorite Sentinels shows you guys used to like?

Aha! Piblishing universe roleplaying!

For me the Freedom Five Animated Series will always have a special place in my heart. Though I also loved the classic black and white Legacy. Even though he sprouted new unknown powers every episode, and after shrugging off a hail of bullets ducked when the mobsters threw their gun at him. I just love that classic newsreel intro. “High above Megalopolis, a suited savior soars. Faster than a galloping stallion, stronger than a truck, and more handsome than clark gable. It’s an American Legacy!”

I’ve heard that Schmetflix might be doing a set of TV-MA shows based on the members of Dark Watch and if they do well then maybe a team up show as well. Excited to get to see Mr. Fixer. Rumor is that they have already started casting for Setback.

I hadn’t heard of the dark watch series! Who do you think they should team up against?!?

I have always been quite fond of the organization as a good overarching bad guy, but would be interesting if they did dark watch coming together whilst the Bear was still in power with them forcing The chairman to take a more active role in it all.

I know it breaks from the comics but it just would make such an interesting arc. Also seeing JK Simmons put the muscles to evil use would be tonnes of fun.

I heard that season 1 of Mister Fixer is actually his origin along with the origin of Heartbreaker, culminatingin a big battle between the two. Rumor has it that Mister Fixer dies in the fight.

Nah they wouldn't do that.

Would just destroy any chance they have of making a sequel, and a good gritty series about Slim is just a license to print money.

I heard Christina Ricci has a cameo as someone called The Harpy in this one.  Anyone confirm anything about that character?

I think that's just fan speculation at this point.  Haven't seen anything official.

That said, I heard that they were planning on making a controversial casting decision for Nightmist, but haven't heard what it might be.

You know, Danai Gurira would be an inspired pick for Nightmist.

(Copying marvel movie plots...)

What aboit the shmabc filter series? That one's good.

Agents of Filter is hit or miss for me. I enjoy the fact that FILTER is not necessarily a good organization. How it is more about the 5 main characters trying to figure out the mysteries of what FILTER really is. Season one was also interesting watching the Citizens of the Sun vs FILTER story. That cliffhanger where Citizen Dawn escapes and destroys a good portion of The Block was intense!!

I'll always enjoy Wraith: The Animated Series from the 90's. It was a classic of animation, and it brought the caracter back into the limelight. I think the last series she was in was the old campy 'Freedom Friends' cartoons from the 70's.

But getting back on topic, WtAS was great. It laid most of the groundwork for the animated universe. It's just too bad the redesigns turned out so bad...

I stopped watching Agents of FILTER after they revealed that Aruba was actually in the Void.

Always enjoyed Wraith: the Animated Series, though, as well as the Freedom Five follow-up series.  The two-parter in Reno where Bunker and Wraith finally admit their feelings was a classic.

My favorite was always Setback and his Amazing Friends:  Expatriette and Mr. Fixer

Wasn't there a pilot for a show in the 80s called "Shriek of the Freedom Five"? I don't think the show ever got made, but I think there was an arcade game based upon it.

They make far too many Wraith cartoons these days... the worst part is that they peaked way back with Wraith Beyond.

Wraith vs legacy was stupid. Completely undermined both character's characterizations.

the lego wraith movie was good, though. Lots of lampshading some of the more common tropes of wraith. (On another note: it's great that sentinel comics is getting the rights to the prime wardens back. Maybe we can get some actual good movies now. (On a seperate seperate note: hopefully they can keep the quality of the guise movies on the up.)

I don'y know. Wraith: the brave and the bold was a little campy, but at least it helped bring some lesser known sentinels characters into the limelight. (And it brought us the best Haka ever)

On a seperate seperate seperate note: it's really too bad that the animated Southwest Sentinels movie they made three or four years back isn't going to be a part of the cinematic continuity.
