For determining effects of "do damage to hero with the highest/lowest HP", how do the Sentinels get counted? Do you use the four totals together or are they counted individually? In the first game I played with them, I had to spend a lot of time keeping The Idealist alive since she got blasted with all the "hit the lowest" damage.
Individually. Each is its own target, and yes, the idealist will get hit with the most damage when Lowest target is applied. In that situation I look to get Writhe's Signature card out, and heal up Idealist above Writhe :)
Looking for the card that lets you use another power a turn really helps to get Block going too.
That card is Sentinels Tactics - whenever one of the Sentinels deals damage, you can use a power.
Semi-related question: what the dickens happens with the Sentinels and the Insula Primalis non-target damage cards? River of Lava and Primordial Plant Life both say they deal their damage to "each hero", rather than "each hero target". The Sentinels have four "hero targets", but are collectively just one "hero". So since the Sentinels virtually never have an Equipment to ditch, does River of Lava always deal 5 damage to each of them, or only to one of them? We played it the latter way last night, and it seemed more than adequately painful to them as it was.
Because the River and the Life don't say "each hero target" or "each hero character card," but simply "each hero," I would say that the Sentinels collectively only take one hit, of the player's choice. The Volcano will hit all of them, though.
Thematically, it should hit all of them.
Note that it's not a typo: Unity's Bots should not be hit by River of Lava, for instance.
River would hit one Sentinel of your choice.
How does that work, thematically? Writhe suffers horrible burny pain, and Medico, Mainstay and the Idealist are miraculously immune to the effects of, you know, a hot flowing stream of melty lava?
i just can't get my head around why that works.
They toss Writhe into the lava and stand on top of him.
So why can't other heroes do the same? Make Ra into an impromptu lava boat and sail away downstream? A Raft, if you like.
The Sentinels don't actually have to take damage from it. They vote and decide which one of them will drink some of the lava just to make the other heroes feel better.
Because Ra is the God of the Sun, not the God of the Pun.
Raft made me chuckle more than is healthy for a pun of its caliber.
I am amused. ;)
