Shipping through Greater Than Games

I was going to order mini-expansions but went to check out and the only option available for shipping was Fed Ex.  I don't want to pay $11+ for shipping.  The postal service would do this much cheaper.  The only thing in my basket was the six mini-expansions for SotM.  Is there any way to order but have USPS deliver?

The short answer is "Not really."

One of my favorite Friendy Local Game Stores carries the expansions, and I've never known one that wasn't happy to special order for a patron. If >G and the distributors are out of stock it's another matter.

The next obvious question is, "why not?"  All my podcasts tell me that stamps.com will have your postal carrier pick up your packages so you never have to go to the post office again.  Sounds like you guys could use a little of that.

As I recall, it's because they don't trust USPS to not lose the packages, which would cause further delays and even more unnecessary costs. That, and it would be pretty complex to mail each of 4500 different packages through any one of several different delivery services. That's a lot more sorting than is necessary.

Every USPS package now has tracking.  You can see exactly where every single package is.  Thanks for the comments.  It would be nice for them to at least offer customers options.  I was scoping out options on ebay the other day.  I'll have to get some time and decide what I want to do.

Don't feel bad about ordering them through something like CoolStuffInc - GtG sells them at the price point they would want to sell them at to those companies, and not a dime cheaper. If they are selling them for so little, then it doesn't matter to GtG they already made the buck they wanted too. :)

Yep, same thing with eBay. The person who holds the product already ate the shipping costs themselves, likely through a bulk order for their store. They pass the savings onto us.

This; the shipping costs for one copy of Wrath of the Cosmos was a little over 10 USD. Yet when my sisters and I did a joint order of a dozen copies, it only cost 27.20 USD for it, not even triple the price for about twelve times the weight.

This is one of the reasons we really like using our web store for pre-orders! We definitely encourage people to bundle their orders together to save on shipping!

And because Jodie is awesome! I bundled some replacement cards in my WotC order; something I couldn't justify paying shipping for separately. She helped me save a ton.

I second the notion that Jodie is awesome, because she is.

Third!

Fourth, since she helped my wife get a technically late order placed.

Fifth, because she is the only GtG employee that has played Sentinels of the Multiverse in the G+ community.

Can I fifth even though I seconded?

That’s worth a sixth.

Praising Jodie could be a thread in-and-of itself.

EDIT: Seventh!

I didn't see a seventh. shakes fist

EDIT: Oh, wait, I am a Mod now.

I don't wanna know what Ronway is drinking a fifth of.
